Story
“One of the most intelligent breeds, challenging to live with, intensity and obsessive zeal of working, sharp-eyed, quick-thinking, fanatical workaholic” That’s what you think about when considering a Border Collie! Well, hate to BURST YOUR BUBBLE, “That’s NOT ME!” Hey all, I’m Shadow, a 6 month old gal weighing in at approx. 40#. Thought to be Border Collie Mix that is mixed with a much more docile, fun loving and goofy breed. Maybe a lab? Who knows, but I am intelligent, good with dogs, kids, adults and do have a bark that is heard at times (but not excessive). I don’t run around like a crazy girl, try to herd or show intensity. My best things in life are playing with toys, my fellow kennel mates, running/jumping in a pack or trying to return affection to my person. Yep, I’m eager to please and even tempered. Daily activity is good for all us 4-leggeds. Being young, I do still have some normal puppy training needs, but having some Border Collie in me, I know together we can tackle anything. Daily exercise is also needed, a few good walks, playing ball, frisbee or taking a ride will do. All these things will help me grow strong, gain experience and bond closer to you, my future mom/dad. So maybe my Border Collie cousins are into herding live stock, jumping like an acrobat for a frisbee, That’s not me. I’m a true, down to earth, loving girl that just wants to have a “Normal Good Time” with my family. How about it? Are you Game???? I’m Shadow and I want to be your “Inseparable Companion” by your side!  To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Story
This week guy was left locked in a cage for a couple of months. Since he's been in rescue, he is very affectionate and playful. Loves dogs, and kids but not a cat guy. We think he's about three years old and he weighs 40 pounds. Would love to have someone to run and play tug with. He would love a fun active family. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please visit funnyfarmpets.org, or you can read all about our Tennessee based rescue and find the link to submit the adoption application He is ready to go!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
🐾WALLACE🖤 Wallace is a loving, handsome, 1.5 year old border Collie/husky mix. He is amazing with other dogs & lives with a bunch of them! He does well with cats as long as a clear expectation is made of how he should behave. 🐱 Wallace is house trained and kennel trained, and he walks/runs well on leash! He would do well with older children as long as they are familiar with the breed & ok with potentially being herded. 🐶 This sweet boy thrives with consistency. He has a hard time adapting to change but has gotten better and will continue to improve with the right amount of training. Wallace can get very excited and just needs someone calm and consistent in these times to help him be the best boy!🖤 Is Wallace the pup you’ve been looking for? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Nico is a unique dog to say the least! His DNA Wisdom Panel found him to be 59% border collie, with his mother most likely to be 100% pure border collie. He certainly stays true to this breed for sure!  He loves to be busy, or have a job as they call it, by running around the yard and watching everything that moves. He actively plays with our other foster dog, and they can play for hours. He will herd young ones, so no children under 10 for him, because he will lean into them until they go in the direction he wants. Coonhound is 18% of his DNA, which explains his ability to track and follow a scent in our yard. Once he catches the scent of a fox or groundhog, he will bark, but not continuously. If you pretend to howl, he will 'sing' along with you-and that is when you hear his distant hound relatives. Nico is one of the smartest dogs our foster family has ever had. He learned to be house broken in a few days, and knows several commands. He will go in his kennel when told to do so. This is NOT a crate- it is much larger to accommodate his long legs when he stands up. He has good recall-especially if you have a treat! Nico is working on leash walking and is improving every day. Even though he is 72 pounds, he will try to climb up in your lap to get some love. He came in 33% underweight,  and has now learned that he doesn't have to inhale his food.  We put it in his kennel and let him eat by himself so he doesn't feel threatened by other dogs. Nico's perfect home would be one with another active dog that loves to run and play.  He would like to be outside because he loves watching the world go by, but at night, he wants to snuggle in his bed. Just a warning-he yawns loudly!  To keep Nico safe, he will need a yard with a physical fence.  If you are interested in Nico, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 5:02 pm
