Meet Cher: Cher is estimated to be about a 9 week old (as of January 19, 2025) border collie / mountain cur mix (best guess) that weighs about 7 pounds. Cher was dumped with her buddy Sonny on someone’s porch in Ashland, MS. The property owner took the pups in to get them safe, but wasn’t able to keep them so reached out to Charlie’s Crusaders to help find them great homes. Cher is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Cher is a super sweet, friendly, tail wagging puppy that loves to be held and pet! As a puppy, Cher will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Cher to have a fenced in yard to run and play freely. Cher is up to date on her shots and will be spayed when age appropriate. Meet Francis: Francis is an 11 week old (as of February 2, 2025) collie / heeler mix that weighs 5 pounds. This sweet little runt of the litter was being bullied by the dogs in his home and the owners reached out to our rescue in hopes of helping him find a safe home. Francis is currently being fostered in the south and would love to catch the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! This super cute pup is very sweet and gets along great with other dogs, but is more submissive and can be picked on by more assertive dogs. Francis is sweet, playful, curious and snuggly. As a puppy, Francis will need some patience while he works on his house training. We would love for Francis to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely. Francis is up to date on his puppy shots and will be neutered when age appropriate. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you! You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known. Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone. WOW SCARY right??? Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies. Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :( The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well. Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life! We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human. His owner got him from a puppy mill in Ohio. Paid good money and had him shipped here. Thats always a recipe for disaster :( His owner was already sick and within the 8 months of Charlies life the owner died.Charlie has had no exposure to ANYTHING :( We have started working with him exposing him to people, bicycles, walks etc. Charlie is a super smart dog and is learning quickly but he will need a family that understands there is still much work to do. I'm honestly really sad to let him go.. Due to a divorce and neither party having a place to keep him I am looking for a good home for him. He has received all his necessary shots up to this point only thing is he is not neutered. He is the epitome of a family dog. Happy, loving, AMAZING with kids, gentle and a bit of a cuddler, doesn't lick, to his credit doesn't really steal food (ive caught him a few times lol). He is already house trained but he could probably use some more leash training (he's quick study, has been with everything). He sits, he lays, he gives paws. He really is everything I wanted in a dog.. Like I said he is free, I'm not looking to make money off him I just want to make sure he has a good home. There is a caveat to this though, due to what was happening in our household we never got around to building a fence since the house is going to be sold now. Whoever wants him I just ask you have a fenced in yard for him to freely run. (xxx) xxx-xxxx .
