Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application.The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you! You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known. Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone. WOW SCARY right??? Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies. Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :( The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well. Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life! We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human. His owner got him from a puppy mill in Ohio. Paid good money and had him shipped here. Thats always a recipe for disaster :( His owner was already sick and within the 8 months of Charlies life the owner died.Charlie has had no exposure to ANYTHING :( We have started working with him exposing him to people, bicycles, walks etc. Charlie is a super smart dog and is learning quickly but he will need a family that understands there is still much work to do. Meet Cher: Cher is estimated to be about a 16 week old (as of March 9, 2025) border collie / mountain cur mix (best guess) that weighs about 11 pounds. Cher was dumped with her buddy Sonny on someone’s porch in Ashland, MS. The property owner took the pups in to get them safe, but wasn’t able to keep them so reached out to Charlie’s Crusaders to help find them great homes. Cher is currently being fostered in the Elizabethtown, PA area and would love to meet her forever family. Cher is a super sweet, friendly, tail wagging puppy that loves to be held and pet! Chex is a complicated case. In terms of my relationship with him, he’s one of the sweetest most eager to please dogs I’ve ever owned. He is fiercely loyal. He is a huge snuggle bug and loves to hang out with his owner. He is house broken and does well on leash. Chex is very very protective of his house/property. He does not like people he does not know coming into his house. He will bark aggressively when the mailbox or package delivery comes to the door. Chex is fine around other dogs so long as there is no competition for toys/treats. Finally, Chex has bit 2 people. One person came in the house unannounced, the other person was having a snack near him and he bit her arm unprovoked. He has not had any formal aggression training. These concerns should be carefully considered when adopting Chex. He should be supervised at all times around children or unfamiliar adults. He’ll do best with a patient owner on a farm/large property with very few visitors.

He’s getting lots of love! He will be ready in a few weeks once he’s neutered! He is UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
