Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Image growing up in a yard with a human throwing you food over a fence and pouring water in your already dirty water day after day.  The human never touched you or the other three dogs in the yard and you lived outside like this summer, winter spring and fall until finally 8 years into your life someone reported your owner to the authorities and they finally came to save you!  You found yourself placed in a box separate from the only friends you had ever known.  Taken to a noisy shelter, poked, probed, bathed and then stuck in a kennel alone.  WOW SCARY right???  Well that was the experience for Max's, his best friend Moose and his 2 other fur buddies.  Unfortunately the oldest of the 4 was quite ill and passed away :(   The other one was adopted and seems to be doing well.  Max's was very shut down until the shelter staff placed him with Moose and then they saw Max's come back to life!   We couldn't allow Max's to lose the only friend he has ever had on this earth so we are taking both boys and they will only be adopted as a bonded pair with a contract signed that they will NOT be separated!! Max's & Moose will have to learn to live in a home, walk on a leash and understand what it is like to be valued and actually LOVED by a human.  If you would like to be considered for the boys please fill out an adoption application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!October 14, 2024, 6:08 pm

Story
This week guy was left locked in a cage for a couple of months. Since he's been in rescue, he is very affectionate and playful. Loves dogs, and kids but not a cat guy. We think he's about three years old and he weighs 40 pounds. Would love to have someone to run and play tug with. He would love a fun active family. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please visit funnyfarmpets.org, or you can read all about our Tennessee based rescue and find the link to submit the adoption application He is ready to go!

Story
“One of the most intelligent breeds, challenging to live with, intensity and obsessive zeal of working, sharp-eyed, quick-thinking, fanatical workaholic” That’s what you think about when considering a Border Collie! Well, hate to BURST YOUR BUBBLE, “That’s NOT ME!” Hey all, I’m Shadow, a 6 month old gal weighing in at approx. 40#. Thought to be Border Collie Mix that is mixed with a much more docile, fun loving and goofy breed. Maybe a lab? Who knows, but I am intelligent, good with dogs, kids, adults and do have a bark that is heard at times (but not excessive). I don’t run around like a crazy girl, try to herd or show intensity. My best things in life are playing with toys, my fellow kennel mates, running/jumping in a pack or trying to return affection to my person. Yep, I’m eager to please and even tempered. Daily activity is good for all us 4-leggeds. Being young, I do still have some normal puppy training needs, but having some Border Collie in me, I know together we can tackle anything. Daily exercise is also needed, a few good walks, playing ball, frisbee or taking a ride will do. All these things will help me grow strong, gain experience and bond closer to you, my future mom/dad. So maybe my Border Collie cousins are into herding live stock, jumping like an acrobat for a frisbee, That’s not me. I’m a true, down to earth, loving girl that just wants to have a “Normal Good Time” with my family. How about it? Are you Game???? I’m Shadow and I want to be your “Inseparable Companion” by your side!  To submit an adoption application, visit mollysplacerescue.org. Fill the form out completely, print, scan and email back to mollysplace@verizon.net. You must obtain pre-approval prior to visiting the dog or cat. Adoptions fees include the following:    spay/neuter surgery,  microchip and registration,  age appropriate vaccinations,  initial dewormings,  Activyl for fleas,  tested for FeLV and FIV (cats only),  bubble bath prior to going home (dogs only) WE do not "HOLD" animals without an approved application and a non-refundable/non-transferable paid adoption fee.  Adoptions are on a first come, first serve basis.  We can not send extra pictures.  WE do not ship, you must pick up the pet.  Kitties must be transported in a secure cat carrier.   Pooches require a "martingale" collar and a non-retractable leash. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 9:38 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Kiwi and her brother were found by a good samaritan that found them on the side of a road.  They had been with their momma and 2 other siblings, however, they ran off and she was only able to grab two of them.  The mom was medium size and described to look like a black beagle mix dogWe are guessing that Kiwi was born around mid to late September, 2024.  As for breeds, we are simply guessing and thinking possibly border collie and labrador mix.  We are sure there are many breeds and she will grow to be a medium sized dog.  Kiwi is very sweet and friendly!  She loves to snuggle and enjoys playing with her toys.  She is being fostered with another dog and loves to play and snuggle with him.  House training is in the progress, but she is still very young.Kiwi is current on vaccines, dewormed, and current on preventative.  Her adoption fee is $450.  If you are interested in Kiwi, please submit an application on our website at https://worthytails.rescuegroups.org.  For any questions you may have, please send an email to jessie.wilson@comcast.netThank you for your interest in a rescue puppy!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 11, 2024, 7:12 pm
