Story
Hi! My name is Zeke. When you meet me you`ll love my pretty black and white coat. I can be a little nervous around new people so it would be best for all the family members in the house to come and meet me as well. If given a chance I could be your most loyal best friend. I love to run and play with toys as well as eat snacks (cheese) and cuddle. If you are looking to add another family member to your life and to your heart, then maybe I am the right guy for you!

Story
Meet Bear! Bear is such a beautiful dog with the sweetest golden brown eyes! He is a 1 year old happy, energetic and very smart Border Collie/German Shepherd mix and is on the smaller size, at 40lbs. We pulled Bear from a Kentucky shelter where he was on the Euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Bear is very playful and loving, and is a great balance of cuddles and adventure! He loves going on walks and running and playing in the back yard, but he also loves to snuggle up at the end of the day! He is learning to walk calmly on a leash, and gets very excited for adventures! Bear is in a Foster home with a cat sister and loves playing with her! He is very gentle and is always interested in hanging out with her! Bear may be best with female dogs as he seems to be selective with some males. He can be timid when meeting new dogs on walks, so he would need proper introductions. Bear's breed does require a lot of exercise, so he would need to have a fully fenced yard and would also require regular walks. Bear is young so adequate exercise keeps him from getting bored and helps him be on his best behavior! He may be a little too much for young children as he still jumps and will need to be trained so that he understands not to jump and other basic manners. He would also do best in a family that is very active! Bear is crate trained and potty trained, and is eager to learn new things! If you are interested in meeting Bear, you can fill out an application here and we can schedule a meet and greet! https://www.coopersafeplace.org/application-page Bear's adoption fee is $450 and due on the day of adoption.

Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
Meet Beth Anne! This 10-month-old Labrador Retriever/Border Collie mix was left tied to a sign post outside of the shelter but is now thriving and ready for her forever home! At around 25 lbs Beth Anne is the perfect size to join you on adventures this summer. Beth Anne is a wonderfully energetic pup and would love to join her people on regular walks, spend time at the park, or romp around in the yard with other dogs! She loves to watch the squirrels and birds and is happy to accept any and all treats when offered to her. When all is said and done for the day, she'd love nothing more than to curl up and take a snooze. She would love to learn some basic commands as she is still young and would thrive with positive reinforcement training. She is still working on potty training and rarely has an accident in the house, but will sometimes have accidents in her crate. Through a consistent schedule and treats she will continue to pick up the habit! Good with both dogs and people, Beth Anne has endless love to give! If you are looking for an energetic pup to be your future best friend & activity buddy, apply for Beth Anne today! Beth Anne is being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
