Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. LUCY is one stunning floof. She's a 1 year old 27 pound (fully grown) mixed breed girl. Lucy is lively, friendly and fun. She's a Heinz 57-varieties type mixed breed girl. She has some herding tendencies and runs like a sighthound. Border Collie/Whippet? Plus 6 other breeds? We have no clue. We do know she's an active girl who loves to run and play. Plus she's a cheerful friendly dog who poses for photos like a supermodel. Lucy landed in a rural shelter because her family moved and left her behind to wander and fend for herself. Lucy is best suited to an active home with a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Lucy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Lucy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Meet Millie! She’s a four year old ball of energy who is very sweet, good with dogs/cats/kids, and house trained! Millie loves to go for runs and go hiking, we say she’s like a mountain goat haha Millie is always up for an adventure and would fit best with a family who enjoys the outdoors and exploring new places! It would also be great for her to have a backyard to run around in. Although she will try to steal your food, Millie would be the perfect addition to your family! Millie can be timid and skiddish at first, but she quickly warms up to people! She will need someone who is experienced with dogs who have anxiety and she may need your help correcting slight barking.
