Story
Are you looking for a super smart dog who can impress others with tricks? Do you have experience with Border Collies? Look no further! Maggie is a beautiful 1-year-old, 29lb black and white Border Collie. True to her breed, she is looking for an active home that can fulfill her daily exercise needs. Maggie knows basic commands but is very willing to learn so much more! Maggie can be timid at first and needs time to warm up to people and situations. Once warmed up, she is a very sweet dog who enjoys giving kisses and snuggling. She does well with other dogs but can herd her dog friends, as her breed is known to do. Maggie is crate trained, potty trained, and does well walking on a leash. She loves to go on long walks or hikes regardless of the weather. Maggie’s personality would make her perfect for agility or fly-ball if given the opportunity. Maggie does have some herding tendencies and may do best in an adult-only home with a family that is familiar with pure bred Border Collies. Maggie will need a family that is able to provide lots of stimulation for her physically and mentally. If you do not have full breed experience with Border Collies, Maggie will likely be too much dog for you. If Maggie sounds like a good fit for your family, fill out an application ASAP! Age: 1 year Adoption Fee: $500

Story
Hi there! I'm Tuesday, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! If you're interested in adopting me or just want to learn more, please reach out to Rachael at 440-773-0270 to set up a meet-and-greet. Here's a bit about me: Housebroken: I'll let you know when I need to go outside by ringing bells or giving you a nudge. Crate-trained: I'm comfortable in my crate, especially if I have some treat-filled toys to keep me occupied. I might get a bit too excited with the toys, though, so it's best to use them mainly when I'm in the crate. Free-roaming: I'm trusted to stay out of the crate now! While my foster mom is at work, I enjoy napping, watching squirrels, or playing with my toys. Quick learner: I know commands like sit, down, stay, come, shake paw, no-jump, and off. I'm still working on heeling, but I can do it on either side. I understand "okay as a cue to relax. Toy lover: I enjoy a variety of toys-fetching them, bringing them to you, or just playing by myself. Active and athletic: Whether it's walking, jogging, or running, I'm up for it! If you prefer a quieter activity, I love running around a yard. Car rides: I'm a pro at car rides and enjoy trips to different places, like the Metro Park. Snuggly: Once I get to know you, I'm all about cuddles and giving kisses! Social skills: I'm working on meeting new dogs. I can be a bit nervous at first, but I warm up quickly. Especially to younger dogs that are respectful. Special needs: I'd be happiest in a home without other animals or a younger dog that will give me time to warm up. I do think I would rather not live with small kids because I don't really like to share my food and toys. If I sound like a good fit for you, get in touch with Rachael at 440-773-0270 to arrange a meeting. I can't wait to meet you and see if we're a perfect match!

Story
Update on Charlie: Charlie has been settling into his foster home and is doing very well. He enjoys taking walks, playing ball, and being outside. He absolutely craves being the center of attention and is more than happy to sit by your side, letting you pet him until one of you falls asleep. He has started working on clicker training to learn basic commands. He does a great job in his crate and is working on learning to settle and rest outside of the crate as well. Charlie was a last-minute save from a shelter in Ohio. Charlie has had a rough start in life and needs some structure and guidance to be the best dog he can be! He currently is in a boarding facility, where he is well-loved by the staff, and we are looking to place him into a foster home soon. He has an injury to his left rear thigh but is recovering nicely. He loves going on walks and does well on leash. He also enjoys playing ball in the yard. From what we've seen and tested, he seems to do well with other dogs but we would recommend only one other dog in the house with him. He doesn't do well with cats, since he wants to chase them. He is house and crate trained, neutered and UTD on vaccines. See Charlie and all his friends on our page https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs Location: Northeast Ohio Contact: team@midwestbordercollierescue.org
