Story
(DOB 02/26/2017) Magnificant Mack is good with other dogs, cats and kids! The trifecta! He seems to gravitate towards kids and wants to be with them; just make sure the kiddos are older (~10+) becuase of his size. He wouldn't want to accidently knock down a smaller child with his love and affection. Half of Mack's Adoption Fee has been SPONSORED by a generous donor; just $150 to adopt this Handsome Hunk!! This is super sweet; gorgeous, stunning, well behaved, ~70+ pounds of love is really kinda "afraid" of his foster family's cats when he first arrived (which was really kind of funny!). He is becoming more interested in them and will chase in play but easily redirected. Mack could be an only dog, but he'd probably be happier with some fun, playful siblings. He does well with other dogs and is submissive even with his larger size. He is going to be an awesome addition to a full house!  Mack would love to be in a home with an active family where he could be outside a lot. He would really, really like a 5ft+ fenced yard to run, zommie, and romp around in!  He likes playing with toys, some good ole tug-o-war (he typically gives up first) and playing with other dogs. He likes grabbing a stuffie and pulling and tugging on it with his foster furry family members.  Mack likes to use his voice and "chat" with his furry foster siblings...he has cute vocals. He wouldn't be a perfect fit for apartment or condo for these reasons. Mack is house trained but not really crate trained.  He has selected a favorite chair and a dog bed that he finds much more to his liking. He is well behaved and happy in his home environment.  He would be happy curled up in front of a roaring fire or on the sofa after a good play time. Mack would love someone who works from home/home most of the time, so he could have loads of attention. Mack loves the car and would be happy with a family that is on the go! He does have some seperation anxiety and just loves being with his people. He is definitely looking for someone who a true daily companion; he really isn't interested in hanging out alone all day. Work from home or can take your pup to work with you; then Mack is the paw-fect selection! Plus, when you are out and about, he is good on a leash and well behaved. He is a GEM! As part of Mack's $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.  If you have questions about this sweet boy, you can email Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Mack, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##1558926##

Story
Name / Breed / Age: Alice, Border Collie mix, Puppy Personality Traits: The Gentle Pup, Snuggly, Loveable Likes / Dislikes: Loves toys. No major dislikes yet. Health and behavior history:  Up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and will be spayed prior to adoption. Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet! Meet Alice – The Gentle, Loving Little Companion ! At the age of 10 months old, Alice has already mothered a litter of puppies. This pup became a teen mom and had to grow up too fast. Until PIPs stepped in. Now Alice is enjoying life as a young puppy should.  With her foster family, Alice immediately became pals with the resident dog and they spend their afternoons lazing in the sunshine. (Alice is dog friendly!). She likes to stash her favorite toys in her crate. (Alice is crate trained!) As the foster family arrives home from school, Alice calmly greets them at the door, nudging quietly for a pet. (Alice is kid friendly!) Apparently the idea of treats is new for her and she likes to judge her treat options. But she's catching on and loves treats in her bed. (Alice is finger friendly. AKA: the most gentle dog EVER when taking a treat from you.) This teenage canine loves to snooze around, stretching out for naps in your lap or across the couch. (Alice is nap friendly.) She knows how to potty outside, sleep through the night and walk on a leash right by your side. (Alice is pure puppy perfection.) Whatever her past may have included, Alice is one of the best all-around and is ready to start fresh with her new forever family. Her foster mom assures you that whoever adopts Alice will be such an incredibly lucky family - Alice is just that amazing. ##2310140##

Story
Lucy is an adorable Border Collie mix with a great smile! She loves going on long walks and even sits politely when you leash her to go outside. Lucy enjoys traveling and is a great running partner. She loves snuggles and belly rubs. Lucy does well with sleeping on her own, with free access to her crate. She is a good listener, and overall well-behaved other than her jealousy/aggression issues. She is an anxious dog and we have given her calming medications in the past. Lucy was originally owned by a relative that adopted her from a shelter. Our relative could no longer care for her because of how active Lucy is. Our relative had a chihuahua and three other cats that Lucy did well with. From what we have seen in the past, Lucy does well with kids. We have seen that she must warm up to younger men.

Cheyenne is about 6 years old. She’s very sweet. She loves fetch and is very athletic. An ideal home would include a fenced in yard and someone who is active and able to help her burn off excess energy. She is house trained. She’s prone to anxiety and tends to develop phobias of silly things like keys making noise or the leash in her face.

Story
Meet Jasper - a 1.5-year-old mix rescued from a high kill shelter. He is a friendly guy about 45lbs, neutered, and up to date on shots. He was heartworm positive but is almost finished with treatment and doing very well. He’s house trained and learning basic commands. Jasper is thriving in a social environment and would love a home with a dog sibling or friends. He is pretty chill and would also do well as a single person’s best buddy. Jasper is smart and treat motivated. As a former stray, he can compete for food and treats, so should be fed separately to feel safe. The agile Jasper can jump six foot fences. When he’s happy in his own yard, he will stay put unless he hears something interesting. But, his new family should plan the yard accordingly or rely on leashed walks. Jasper is usually quiet but can howl mournfully if left alone. He would do well with a routine and learning to trust that his people will be back.
