Story
Hi there, I'm Ally! I'm a senior Border Collie mix at around 10 years old and 55 pounds, but don't let my age fool you-I've got a young heart full of love and a lot to give. I'm friendly and always ready to meet new people and make friends. I'm also a quick learner, and I'm eager to please, which means training me is a breeze. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy, I'm your girl-I love nothing more than snuggling up close and enjoying quiet moments together. I do want to mention that I'm currently heartworm positive, but don't let this scare you! The shelter is committed to helping with my treatment until I'm heartworm-free, so you'll have all the support you need to get me back to full health. I'm sweet, gentle, and easy-going with a mellow personality that fits right into a loving home. And loyalty? It's my middle name. I'd walk by your side forever, always ready to offer a comforting paw or a listening ear. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be your best friend through thick and thin, then I'm the one for you. I'm up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. Ready to meet me? You can apply quickly and easily on our website: foothillshumanesociety.org Applying doesn't obligate you to adopt, but it makes the process smoother if you decide to! You can also visit us in person at: 989 Little Mountain Rd, Columbus, NC 28722 Wednesday through Sunday, 11am-5pm For any questions, feel free to email adopt@foothillshumanesociety.org or call (828) 863-4444. Story
Looking for a smart, loyal, hugging, lovable dog - look no further - Archer is your boy. This boy was used for breeding and the building he was kept in caught fire and the breeder had nowhere to keep the dogs so they were signed over to the shelter as owner surrenders - we were fortunate enough to be able to pull Archer out of the shelter and so glad we did because he is amazing. He was born on 2-12-22 - so he is 2 years old - his current weight is 48 pounds. He is so very smart, very loyal, loves other dogs ( we are unsure of cats as his foster does not have cats), great with kids and just an all around good dog - he is crate and housetrained and knows basic commands. He would make an excellent family dog , an excellent hiking partner, he just wants to be loved and he will give you big hugs in return. Archer will require a fenced in yard Archer is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, has had a bloodwork panel done, negative for heartworms and lymes disease, microchipped and current on his monthly heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250.00 If you are interested in adopting this amazing boy please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - an inquiry through here is not our adoption application. We do require an application to be filled out before we will set up a meet and greet - we do require a home visit and vet references as well. We do no have a facility - all of our dogs are fostered in private foster homes So looking for a special boy that will bring you many years of happiness - go fill out the application - you won't be sorry - because Archer is amazing

Story
Angel is thought to be a red merle Australian cattle dog mix who was born in 2018. She must have been dumped as a young puppy as she is not socialized to humans. She was trapped while running with two larger dogs. The dogs hunted chickens and cats to survive. We are so grateful that Angel got into the trap because the other two dogs were shot and killed by irate neighbors. Angel is 28 lbs and very healthy. She is stout and compact and would be great as a hiking companion or just a good little dog to sleep in your bed. Angel is making slow progress in becoming a pet. We have built a good relationship, and I can touch her all over and pick her up. She is still not used to a leash, but she comes when called and is very obedient. She is very food motivated and that will be the key to continuing her socialization. Angel lives at a pet hotel and is exposed to many dogs each day. She is confident with other dogs. When she first meets another dog, she wants to assert her dominance. She needs mild correction and then she can be off leash and playing in no time. Angel cannot be with cats. Angel is getting more and more accustomed to strangers every day. It takes time to develop a relationship with her. Let’s face it Angel needs some love. She will need a patient, competent leader to continue her progress. **Adoption fee of $175 includes spay/neuter, vet visits, deworming, and shots. ** Adoption Application: mercyrescue.org
