Story
Dash is a sweet 1 1/2 year old boy rescued from a shelter. He is a cuddle bug that loves to receive and give affection. He is house trained and knows basic commands like sit, down, and leave. We would love to keep him, however he does not get along well with our other dog. He would do best in a home without other dogs. We are unsure of how he would do with small children. Dash tested heartworm positive and is currently on medication. He will need additional veterinary care for this very treatable condition. He is has a huge heart and is wonderful with humans, he just needs the right pet-free loving home where he can thrive and give LOTS of cuddles. Please contact if interested!

Story
Acquired my pet through online listing, she is very sweet, very friendly and good with people. she's a big cuddle bug and fairly trained for the most part, granted she's 11 months old. What I mean by that is she does bark at other dogs from time to time because she is nervous, and does love to jump on people but she is completely house trained. The only reason we cant keep her is because honestly we don't have enough space, I live in a one bedroom and the bigger she gets I can just tell she needs a house with a yard and somewhere she can run freely and really be happy and I would rather give her to someone who meets those needs while she is still young. Applicant MUST be a dog lover and have a fenced in yard for her to play in, she is ok with other dogs once she meets them but it may take her a little bit to get used to. Applicant must also be okay with a hyperactive dog. She runs a ton and loves to eat (as do all dogs) and needs plenty of water available at all times.

Story
Meet ONYX! Onyx came to us from Western Carolina right after Helene. He is full of puppy playfulness and has a bubbly personality. He would make a great family dog or a companion dog for an active individual. The shelter had him listed as a border collie but we are unsure of his breed (we do see a bit of Spuds McKenzie). He is about 4 months old and around 20lbs (so medium sized adult). Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2194023##

Story
We adopted ace from a shelter in Chicago when he was 3 months. He is now 5 years old. Will be turning 6 in November. Ace is an active dog. Adores going on walks, playing fetch or simply running anywhere and everywhere. He is a ball of energy and loves to play above all else. Caring dog and is always around no matter what we are doing wether it be cooking or watching tv he will just lay where he can see us. He is house trained and will even ring a bell if he needs to go outside. All his vaccinations are up to date and has never had any health issues. He has always been good with smaller dogs. However, he does get nervous with larger dogs. Had a couple incidents when he was a puppy in which a larger dog was aggressive at a park. He is not good with kids as they make him nervous and the chaos of toddlers is too much for him. We are rehoming ace because of our one year old. Thank you and please share with anybody that might be interested.

Story
Meet Holly Beary! She’s an 11 year old senior border collie and pit bull mix we adopted 7 years ago. She’s a generally happy dog that looooooves people. She loves attention and loves being the center of attention. Her favorite thing to do is cuddle and lay around with her people. She warms up to people pretty quickly (really anyone who will give her pets and affection). I’m looking to find a home for her where she will be the only dog. She’s not an aggressive dog by any means, but in her older age I feel she has become less tolerant and little more reactive. She needs to be in a home with an experienced dog owner who has a LOT of love to give this old girl. She’s never been around kids, so preferably in a home that’s just adults. Holly is crate trained, house trained, and listens to commands. She only really knows sit. wait, and giving ‘paw’. She’s up to date on all of her vaccinations and is heartworm negative.

These pups are in Huntersville, North Carolina too!
