Story
Looking for a smart, loyal, hugging, lovable dog - look no further - Archer is your boy. This boy was used for breeding and the building he was kept in caught fire and the breeder had nowhere to keep the dogs so they were signed over to the shelter as owner surrenders - we were fortunate enough to be able to pull Archer out of the shelter and so glad we did because he is amazing. He was born on 2-12-22 - so he is 2 years old - his current weight is 48 pounds. He is so very smart, very loyal, loves other dogs ( we are unsure of cats as his foster does not have cats), great with kids and just an all around good dog - he is crate and housetrained and knows basic commands. He would make an excellent family dog , an excellent hiking partner, he just wants to be loved and he will give you big hugs in return. Archer will require a fenced in yard Archer is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, has had a bloodwork panel done, negative for heartworms and lymes disease, microchipped and current on his monthly heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250.00 If you are interested in adopting this amazing boy please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications - an inquiry through here is not our adoption application. We do require an application to be filled out before we will set up a meet and greet - we do require a home visit and vet references as well. We do no have a facility - all of our dogs are fostered in private foster homes So looking for a special boy that will bring you many years of happiness - go fill out the application - you won't be sorry - because Archer is amazing

Story
Hi there, I'm Ally! I'm a senior Border Collie mix at around 10 years old and 55 pounds, but don't let my age fool you-I've got a young heart full of love and a lot to give. I'm friendly and always ready to meet new people and make friends. I'm also a quick learner, and I'm eager to please, which means training me is a breeze. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy, I'm your girl-I love nothing more than snuggling up close and enjoying quiet moments together. I do want to mention that I'm currently heartworm positive, but don't let this scare you! The shelter is committed to helping with my treatment until I'm heartworm-free, so you'll have all the support you need to get me back to full health. I'm sweet, gentle, and easy-going with a mellow personality that fits right into a loving home. And loyalty? It's my middle name. I'd walk by your side forever, always ready to offer a comforting paw or a listening ear. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be your best friend through thick and thin, then I'm the one for you. I'm up to date on my vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. Ready to meet me? You can apply quickly and easily on our website: foothillshumanesociety.org Applying doesn't obligate you to adopt, but it makes the process smoother if you decide to! You can also visit us in person at: 989 Little Mountain Rd, Columbus, NC 28722 Wednesday through Sunday, 11am-5pm For any questions, feel free to email adopt@foothillshumanesociety.org or call (828) 863-4444. Let's start our forever friendship-I'm ready to be your loyal companion every step of the way!

Story
Gancho is a very affectionate border collie that we have had for four months after he was abandoned by his previous owner. He has been great with loud kids and chaos, was quick to train on our electric fence, is very eager to train, doesn’t have accidents inside, friendly as can be, and does well with our other dogs. He has no food aggression, but thinks cats are food. Outside he runs, inside is chill. We are unsure of what happened to him with the previous owner, but he has had several instances where he has snapped at us seeming scared. Specific examples: my husband touched his ear while he was relaxed on the couch and he snapped at him. I was smelling him after he came inside and he snapped at me. Both times he responded well to a firm no and came back to snuggle, but with the number of people in our house, we don’t feel we can take the risk. He would do well in a family more experienced with rescues than we are. We love him dearly and want to make sure he has the home he deserves.

Story
Shiloh is a great dog. She would be perfect on a large plot of land with a family. She is high energy and explorative. She is a fast learner, food motivated and has many commands. Her release word from a stay or her asking for something is "Free". Shiloh was found with 5 siblings in a parking lot on a hot day in Raleigh a year and a half ago. Now she loves winter, and playing in water on hot days. She is great candidate for buttons, as she has learned to hold or offer affirmative barks on the word of the thing she wants. Housebroken, loving, emotionally aware, crate trained. I am just looking for a family that can provide her the attention, space and activity she needs to be fulfilled.

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Lenoir, NC Meet Ranger! He is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs between 50-60 lbs. He isn’t neutered, up to date on shots, or on heartworm prevention. Ranger is nervous around strangers! No children, cats, or dogs, due to his reactivity! Ranger is housebroken and crate-trained. He came from an abusive household in his previous home. The current owner is surrendering him because he is aggressive towards her other dogs. He needs to go immediately! If you think you can provide a great home for Ranger, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Ranger. Owner’s Contact Information: Whitney at whitneylee00@gmail.com.
