She’s very loving and wants to please her owner. She would be fantastic with a farm family with kids, she has the energy to keep up with the whole family. I owned lots of dogs in my life and she was a favorite. I wish my health would have allowed me to keep her. Please pick Sadie!

Baby Boy (neutered male)1 year - Border Collie mix (36lbs) - strayDog friendlyAdoption Fee: $0(sponsored by generous donor)From foster:Hello! Some updates on Baby Boy. He is thrilled with his Christmas presents and especially enjoys his little stuffed toys. He loves our other two dogs and is great with them. He seems indifferent to our cat too, no issues there! Very good fit for any home with pets.In regard to his marking, he certainly does, but we were able to manage it with letting him out frequently, keeping him occupied, and having him wear a belly wrap while we were eating and couldn’t watch him constantly. Definitely needs some work but not beyond hope at all!He also slept well in a large crate with his bed overnight. I don’t know how he would do crate training otherwise as we have not left him alone yet.

Story
River has lots of puppy energy and is looking for a forever home on a farm, with a family who has lots of time to play with her and keep her busy.  She is a Border Collie, born February 2024.  She is potty trained, crate trained and is happy to be around other dogs, cats, strangers and children.  She is still learning what's okay or not okay to chew and might dig a few holes outside when she gets bored, so she'll need someone who's patient and willing to keep her training going.  She's already learned to follow commands such as sit, lay down, shake and is ready to learn more. She enjoys chasing cats, so a home without cats would be best. River would love to be in a home with kids or another dog to play with.  And she would be a great help herding livestock!   The suggested adoption donation for River is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.   Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption.   Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.   To learn about Muddy Paws Last Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue Inc.   Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.   ##2253338##

Story
Hey all, this is Archer. He is a 3 year old purebread Border Collie, great with our kids and other dog. We also have a Cat, and while Archer has never been aggressive of any kind, he has a strong herding instinct and will follow the cat around the house. We're looking to find him a new home for a few reasons, primarily we want our cat to be able to relax in the house more and not be followed so much, but we also want Archer to have a more active lifestyle. Ideally we could find him a home that has some wide outdoor space so he could run and play, and if he was given a job to do he would love it. We want to find Archer a great home with a more active lifestyle for him, so if you have any questions please let us know.

Story
I have had my dog Ellie since May of 2020, She was born in December of 2018. I potty trained her, crate trained her, taught her how to use the stairs, taught her commands, such as come, sit, down, shake, and she has an amazing recall for her name. She is 100% Border Collie (I have her papers) and is not spayed. She is up to date with all vaccinations. She is full grown and 35lbs, I think she was the runt of the litter! Ultimately, I am making the decision to rehome her because I do not think that she gets the amount of attention and care that she deserves. She needs to be in a home with someone experienced with dogs with anxiety. She gets along with dogs when I take her to the dog park, but would much rather sit next to me then play with the dogs. She has always been the sweetest dog to me and a very small selection of people. She is not destructive at all. She will “steal” stuffed animals or socks etc. and put them in her bed, but does not chew them up, like she is “collecting” things
