Story
Hutch is a 45 lb border collie mix. He is a quick learner who is extremely food motivated and knows sit, lie down, settle, come, and heel. His ideal owners would be willing to take him on walks/runs and have a fenced in yard. He is potty trained and roams freely in the house without accidents. He is occasionally reactive to other dogs (especially larger dogs) and we have found that a gentle leader leash will help direct his attention back to you. Needs a proper introduction to dogs, especially those similar or larger in size. Neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and flea treatment. He currently lives with two cats and one smaller dog, and steers clear of the cats. Loves head scratches and belly rubs. When we adopted him he had severe separation anxiety and had frequent accidents in the house. We were told he was previously a “farm dog” and lived with two other dogs and children.

**Meet Marvel**He’s a 1 year old, 35 pound Australian shepherd/Cattle dog mix.Marvel is a sweet, sensitive boy who’s had a tough transition. He lived with his first and only owner until she had to move in with her son, who wouldn’t allow Marvel to come along. Now, the rescue environment is a bit overwhelming for him.He’s a submissive and gentle soul who gets along well with other dogs, but he’s still nervous as he adjusts. Marvel would thrive in a calm, loving home where he can feel safe and start to relax. If you're looking for a loyal companion, Marvel is ready to steal your heart!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Hi, I'm Daize. I'm a 1 year old Border Collie mix. My foster says I'm a sweet girl and do really well at their house. I'd love a home where I can love my humans, play, and feel safe! I'm a little shy at first but warm up easily. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
