Story
Koda is a loving and energetic 3yr old collie Shepherd mix. He was couped up in a laundry room for months before landing in our care. He snuggles well, exceptional with verbal commands, and does not beg at the table. He struggles with barking and he does not chase cats, but I do not believe he is a fan. Great with kids 9+, but has shown territorial tendencies with younger kids. He currently needs to be let out often, but I believe this is a transitional behavior. He would love a fenced in yard with a doggy door.

Story
This is Nala, a Border Collie/Lab mix, born 3 years ago (b. Oct 2021).  Nala is looking for someone who has lots of LOVE and time to share with her.  She is also looking for someone who has experience with bigger dogs and is okay with some shedding.  Nala is friendly with other dogs, but does better with small dogs.  She will match the energy of medium to large dogs and if they are friendly, she's usually friendly and vice versa.  She does better with no-pull leashes/harness, otherwise, she likes to lead and will pull a little.  Nala LOVES to fetch and knows some commands (sit, give me paw, etc).  She enjoys being active and will need a fenced yard (4' is acceptable for her).  She is crate trained and friendly with kids of all ages.  When she's calm and ready to snuggle, you might even find her sitting on your lap!  Let's get this friendly and loving girl into her new home! The suggested adoption donation for Nala is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
River has lots of puppy energy and is looking for a forever home with a family who has lots of time to play with her and keep her busy.  She is a 10 month old Border Collie, born February 2024.  She is potty trained, crate trained and is happy to be around other dogs, cats, strangers and children.  She is still learning what's okay or not okay to chew and might dig a few holes outside when she gets bored, so she'll need someone who's patient and willing to keep her training going.  She's already learned to follow commands such as sit, lay down, shake and is ready to learn more.   River would love to be in a home with kids to play with.  And if you're on a farm, she would be a great help herding livestock!   The suggested adoption donation for River is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Story
Blaze is a handsome 2-year-old boarder collie mix with heterochromi eyes one blue and one brown.  Blaze tested positive for Heart worms, and was treated before coming to Town and Country Animal Rescue. He is a very energetic dog, but will calm down with some brain games and puzzels.  Once he recovers from his heart worm treatment he has the potential to be a great agility dog! Blaze is very sweet and absolutly loves to cuddle. He does get along with other dogs. Blaze would be a great addition to an active house hold who loves to go camping and hiking.  Come out and see Blaze in action! The adoption fee is 350 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.   Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.   ***** If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com.  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed, and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2241974##

Story
Hey all, this is Archer. He is a 3 year old purebread Border Collie, great with our kids and other dog. We also have a Cat, and while Archer has never been aggressive of any kind, he has a strong herding instinct and will follow the cat around the house. We're looking to find him a new home for a few reasons, primarily we want our cat to be able to relax in the house more and not be followed so much, but we also want Archer to have a more active lifestyle. Ideally we could find him a home that has some wide outdoor space so he could run and play, and if he was given a job to do he would love it. We want to find Archer a great home with a more active lifestyle for him, so if you have any questions please let us know.
