Story
Handsome 24-lb. Buddy has the tri-color pattern common to rat terriers, but his coat length, personality, and behavior show his herding dog mix. Since coming to New Rattitude, this 4-year-old boy has come a long way on his journey of self-improvement. Buddy likes to run the show, so his person needs to be firm and patient with him to set boundaries and keep up his training. He will do best in home that provides consistent, positive experiences with respect for Buddy's natural inclinations like his need to have a job.Buddy wants to be involved in everything his person is doing and is always ready to 'help' with any task. He's wired to take his tasks seriously and needs to work a few times each day. Buddy's favorite 'job' is playing ball and he thrives on interaction. Because he would rather be the sole focus of your attention, Buddy would do best as an only dog. He is quick to warm up to new people and will request the attention of any human around.Buddy's a homebody who would rather not go on leashed walks, instead running on his own turf in a large, securely fenced area. A quiet rural or suburban area is ideal for him. A dog door permits Buddy to patrol as needed and to stay impeccably house-trained. Buddy is very reliant on his crate for comfort and a place to 'switch off'; he actually asks to take a nap or go to bed and sleeps in his crate every night.Somewhere in his past, Buddy may have received forceful training and is capable of a bite if he feels threatened. He'll need 1-2 adults (no children) who are experienced at using positive reinforcement to guide him. Buddy has a very sweet side and does ask for affection in fact, love and affection from his foster home has helped him tremendously. If you want a working dog who only asks to be paid with love, Buddy is perfect for the job. See more pictures of Buddy at  https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/buddy .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
REGGIE Roxy (all black) is a 2 year old female that was found with her last years’ puppy, Reggie (white face) 1 year old female, living under a car in a rural area. They were taken to the pound and it was there that they discovered Roxy was very pregnant. Unfortunately none of her babies survived and she has been spayed. These girls were scared to death at the shelter, so much that the shelter was ready to euthanize. We were alerted that they needed a rescue to get them out and we said “YES” and gave them their “get out of jail free” card. Both are now spayed and current on vaccinations. Just getting these ladies out of the shelter and into a home, they have completely made a full recovery. Roxy loves to run around and is more independent than sweet Reggie. Reggie stays pretty close to you wherever you go, happily wagging her tail. Both girls will come back when called and we are working on potty training. They are very smart so I have no doubt it won’t take long. They get along with all the other dogs at the rescue and all people. They are just sweet, happy, loving and mellow little gals.

Story
I've had Maxie for 7-8 years. A coworker needed to rehome her, so I took her with no hesitation. She is such a sweet girl with a silly smile. Great with people and other animals. Maxie needs a home with a yard and a family that can give her the attention she needs. She can be a little nervous at first, so she prefers a more mellow atmosphere. I moved to Idaho almost 2 years ago and up until now I have been able to meet her needs. We went from a house to an apartment where she just doesn't have the space she needs. I work 2 jobs, one full time and one part time which means I'm gone way more that I'd like to be, Maxie is not a fan of this. She loves attention and love and being with you. She barks when left alone too much and it is causing some issues at the apartment. I would love nothing more than to keep her but at this point I can't. I don't want any money, just hoping to find a wonderful home and family for her. We are in Post Falls, ID.

Story
My name is Freda. While I’m still gaining confidence I am a kind girl who is gentle spirited. I am eager to learn and just want to please people. And when I gazed lovingly at you, you can see that. I love treats, and chin scratches and KIDS. I LOVE kids! I am learning to walk on a leash but still need help understanding no on is going to hurt me. I hunker down because I can't help it. I just need someone to show me things are all right. I am uncertain around other pets so it would be best if I was an only dog. Note: Freda qualifies for a shelter discount due to her age of seven years old. She will be spayed before adoption.
