Meet Oreo! 1.5 years old came into rescue 10/21 Oreo is a male Aussie I think with Border collie- He along with 6 others that are coming in are from a breeder shut down. They all lived outside in Texas their whole lives in large kennel runs. Being that he lived his entire live outside, there are a lot of things that are scary and he will need someone that is extremely patient and willing to help him see that things are going to be okay. The dogs all lived with other dogs in their kennels and are living with dogs in their foster homes which has proven to really help them learn how to be a dog and be confident. Having another confident and friendly dog in the home is going to be important. What we know so far and could change as he gets more comfortable: - Loves his crate! It is his safe place and a crate will need to be in his next home - He loves other dogs to play with, cuddle with and shares his water bowl like a gentleman. - Doing well with leash training - helps having another confident dog otherwise he gets scared easily - Sleeps through the night in his crate and when you leave the house, he is very quiet - So far no accidents inside - Loves human affection - Has already learned toys are fun! Buttercup is a 1.5-2 year old Border Collie mix weighing about 35lbs. Buttercup was dumped at a shelter in New Mexico with 2 day old puppies. Some crummy human actually dumped a terrified, exhausted, brand new Momma at the shelter to die alone trying to protect her puppies. When the shelter moved her into a cage with her puppies she tried to protect them (obviously) so the shelter immediately deemed her unadoptable, but was going to adopt out her puppies at less than a week old. Keep in mind, these shelters in this area are dealing with almost zero government funding and hundreds of dogs being dumped on them, so this is not their fault. We couldn't let Buttercup die this way and we didn't want her to be separated from her puppies that she loved so much. We scrambled to get a transport together to get them all here to CO where they would be safe. Once the puppies were old enough Buttercup went to our board and train program since we had to do our do dilligence since the shelter had deemed her "aggressive". The day she went to our trainer, our trainer called us within the hours and said Buttercup was the sweetest happiest girl and she did not need board and train, and could be put up for adoption. We decided to go through with the training program since she was already there and we knew it would set her up for success no matter what. We do strongly believe in training and will require her adopters take our partner training classes just so they can learn more about dogs and learn about everything Buttercup has learned while she has been here. Buttercup is a wonderful pup. She has an amazing zest for life and is just always so happy and social. She gets along great with all other dogs and people. She has a good amount of energy just like most Border Collies but she also loves affection and loves to snuggle. She is everybody's favorite who meets her. She would be a perfect dog for daily runs/hikes, a doggy playmate, an someone who wants a dog to love and snuggle! Summit is a bundle of happy energy! He loves everyone and has almost no fear! He is a healthy, happy, energizer bunny who loves living with people and other dogs, learns quickly, and introduces himself easily. He enjoys going for walks, and is already walking well on a leash, eating as much food as he can get, and sleeping on his people. We cannot quite figure out exactly what he is mixed with, but we do think he will be on the smaller side. He is quickly picking up on house training and loves getting praise and being held. He is very food motivated, so training is going well. He will need meaningful exercise and brain games, and that will be very important to keep him motivated and happy, but he will be an amazing partner in adventure!

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog that needs our help. Stevie is the kind of pup who, once comfortable in her environment, snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet and so very loving and irresistible that you just can't help falling head over heels in love. This is the case unless a dog like Stevie is wandering terrifying city streets or is scheduled for euthanasia in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space, Farfel's Rescue received a plea from Rescued Pets Movement in Texas to save the life of Stevie, an 8 month old, 29 lb Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog mix that is nothing but pure love! Shelter personnel fell in love with this pup's sweet energy and desire to please all those that are kind to her. We responded almost immediately that we'd be more than happy to accept precious Stevie into Farfel's Rescue. Stevie is such a perfect size and weight to be able to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller-sized dog is welcome. This sweetie-pie will fit right in due to her great temperament and desire to please. Stevie is already starting to understand that kind and cooperative behavior makes great things happen in life. Our dream for this cuddly pup is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life. As Stevie becomes comfortable in her forever home, she will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more she will shine with her accomplishments.
