Meet Benito – Your Happy-Go-Lucky Adventure Buddy! Basic Info: Name: Benito Breed: Border Collie / Australian Cattle Dog Mix Sex: Male DOB: April 10, 2022 Weight: 46 lbs Intake Date: April 9, 2024 Personality – Happy, Playful & Full of Zest: Benito is pure sunshine on four paws! Always ready to play, explore, or lean in for a pet, he’s got an infectiously joyful personality that will keep a smile on your face. He loves interactive games, running around the yard, and getting belly rubs. Benito thrives on connection and fun—he’s a dog who wants to be in the middle of the action and part of the family. With him, every day is a new adventure. Breed Information: As a mix of Border Collie and Australian Cattle Dog, Benito is naturally intelligent, alert, and active. These working breeds are known for their stamina, loyalty, and sharp minds. Benito will benefit from regular physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him balanced and happy. Puzzle toys, training sessions, and active play will help him shine. He’s eager to learn and eager to please! Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise: walks, play, fetch, or dog sports Offer mental stimulation through training, puzzles, and games Use positive reinforcement training—Benito is smart and responsive Maintain regular veterinary care and vaccinations Ensure he’s part of the family, not left alone for long periods Provide structure, patience, and love Create a safe, indoor home environment Commitment for Life: Benito is not a short-term companion—he's a lifelong partner. Adopting him means committing to his care, well-being, and happiness for all of his days. He needs a family that understands that dogs are not disposable—they are forever. In return, Benito will give you loyalty, laughter, and love every single day. Do Not Leash Your Dog Outside Unattended: Benito should never be tied up or left outdoors alone. He deserves to be inside, where he can be close to his people and thrive. Why Adopt Benito? Because Benito brings joy wherever he goes. He’s playful without being overwhelming, smart without being stubborn, and affectionate without being clingy. Meet Arnold ! He is a goofy, wiggly boy who’s often on the move. Despite that, he also loves to lounge and cuddle up in the house. We believe the is a shepherd/husky/herding dog mix. He has some herding dog tendencies, like gentle nipping at hands when he’s excited, but he’s quickly becoming more polite and respectful in the home. He also has the German shepherd loyalty! He would make a fantastic off leash hiking companion as he sticks very close by to his person and is non reactive. Exercise wise, Arnold needs 1-2 hours of activity a day. He loves to walk, run, play tug, play with other dogs, and explore new places! He currently is learning drop it, sit, and recall and doing very well. Arnold is shy with new people and tends to avoid/ignore at first but then he starts to show more of his personality. He is in a foster home with a dog trainer and is getting a lot of healthy socialization with dogs and humans. He is also working on his crate training and learning to be okay on his own. He loves to be pet and will melt for belly rubs! Arnold and Bria came from a hoarding situation in Texas, where there were 20 other dogs living in very difficult conditions. After being rescued, he had to fight hard at the start but today he’s healthy and ready for a forever home. All POSO Dogs come with: - Spayed/Netuered - Basic Shots (age appropriate) - Fecal and tick disease testing - other medical concerns addressed before adoption - 2 Free one on one dog training sessions with a professional dog trainer - Training received in foster home - Basic things like some food, treats, leash and collar - PDFs of training material and local coupons and dog sitter recommendations

** If you are interested in adopting Annie, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** *** Please note Annie's potty training status is unknown!! Petfinder does not have an option for "unknown". We are waiting to hear back from her foster about if she is or isn't potty trained yet.*** Meet Annie! Annie is a 2 year old, 50lb, Border Collie mix (possibly with some Aussie in her too). She is so gorgeous and has one blue eye and one brown eye. Annie was found as a stray in Houston TX and nobody reclaimed her. She now has a ticket to Colorado to start a new life! Annie adores people, does amazing with other dogs of all sizes, loves attention, and is already proving to be incredibly adaptable and eager to thrive in a loving home. From Annie's foster: "She’s doing great! She is super sweet and gets along really well with my dogs. They play and cuddle and she does great with my big dog and my small dog! Annie is always wagging her tail and has a very happy, friendly personality!" We don’t know if Annie has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help her build confidence, bond with her new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and a requirement of our adoptions. Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set him up for success. Annie has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.

Story
Meet Maya – A Spirited Sweetheart Looking for Her Forever Home! Name: Maya Breed: Australian Kelpie–Terrier Mix DOB: December 7, 2024 Weight: 30 pounds Spayed, Vaccinated, and Healthy About Maya: Maya is a beautiful, medium-sized girl with a bright mind and a playful heart. She’s active, friendly, and full of curiosity. Whether it’s chasing a ball, going for a walk, or exploring the backyard, Maya is always up for an adventure. She loves people and enjoys being part of the action—but when playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up near her favorite humans. Breed Info – Australian Kelpie x Terrier: Australian Kelpies are highly intelligent, loyal working dogs with strong herding instincts. Terriers are energetic, clever, and full of personality. As a mix, Maya is the perfect blend of smart and spirited. She’ll thrive in a home that can provide both physical activity and mental stimulation. Expect a dog who learns quickly, bonds deeply, and loves to stay busy. Owner Responsibilities: Provide daily exercise (walks, playtime, or training games) Offer basic obedience training and positive reinforcement Feed a healthy diet and maintain regular veterinary care Include Maya in family life—she’s not a dog to leave alone or chained outside Keep her mentally and physically active to prevent boredom Provide love, patience, structure, and a sense of safety Things to Consider Before Adopting Maya: Time & Energy: Maya needs more than a quick potty break. She’ll do best with a person or family who is active and engaged. Finances: Dogs require ongoing expenses (food, vet visits, flea/tick prevention, grooming, toys, etc.). Housing Rules: Make sure your landlord allows pets—especially medium-to-large breeds. Allergies: Check for pet allergies in the household. Lifelong Commitment: Maya could live 12–15+ years. She’s not a temporary guest—she’s family. No Outdoor Chains or Isolation: Maya needs interaction, exercise, and affection. Leaving her tied outside is not safe or fair to her well-being. Why Maya Will Be a Great Addition: Maya is intelligent, affectionate, and ready to love her people with her whole heart. She’s great for active individuals, couples, or families who want a smart, loyal companion to join them on walks, hikes, or playtime in the yard.
