Maddie is a 7 month old Border Collie / Bernard mix. I took her in to find her forever home when her owner didn't want her and allowed her and siblings to run neighborhood. This pretty little girl is a sweet natured, energetic, and very smart. She loves being pet and loved on. She is good with kids, other dogs, and cats (she trys to play with our cat) She is a little shy at first until she gets to know you. She is looking for a home with a fenced in back yard so she can run and play. She is also crate trained at bedtime.

Story
Cucumber is a fun loving companion looking for a partner on her newest adventure! She is a very intelligent and loving Border Collie. Unfortunately we are both older and have health issues that are preventing her from having a fulfilling life. Cucumber would do best with an active human. Someone to play with. Someone to go on long walks or run with. She would also make a great companion for a kiddo who needs a best friend for life!

Story
🌼Meet Cookie Cookie is a six month old Border Collie mix. She was saved by a kind family after being hit by a car. She is fully recovered from her injuries now and is ready to find her new family. 💕 Cookie is not only beautiful but is incredibly sweet as well. She is kind and gentle and just wants to be loved. She can be a bit shy at first but quickly warms up once she meets you and will stick by her person like glue. Cookie would be a great family dog with older children or the perfect companion. Due to her breed mix she needs space to run so a fenced in yard or a home with acreage would be ideal. 🐾 If Cookie sounds like the one you have been waiting for, please submit the adoption application. Sweet Cookie deserves to be loved and spoiled for the rest of her life! 🥰

Story
Meet Sheesh, an energetic and happy-go-lucky Border Collie/Lab mix, who is as cute and silly as her name!  Sheesh was found as a stray with her brother Ozy, and we’re estimating the siblings to be about 8 to 9 months old. While her age is a little uncertain, her breed is much more clear. According to newly arrived breed-test results, Sheesh is half Border Collie and a quarter Labrador Retriever, along with small amounts of a few other breeds. She has a beautiful, somewhat-long and wavy coat with a fluffy tail.  Sheesh is super friendly with adults, kids and other dogs. There’s truly not a mean bone in her body. She would do best in a home with another young and/or playful dog. She has the potential to annoy an older dog who doesn’t like to play.  Sheesh’s hobbies include chewing on ice cubes and playing fetch. She loves chasing the ball and brings it back most of the time. She could be a fetch expert with a little training. Sheesh also loves water. We’re not sure if she can swim, but she enjoys walking through sprinklers on walks and looks so happy when she’s all wet! She sits calmly in the bath tub during bath time.  Sheesh is an active older puppy and would love an active family who wants to take her on adventures. A playful doggy sibling and large fenced-in yard would be an added bonus!  Sheesh is very smart and goes to her crate when she hears the word “crate.” She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and is solidly potty trained. She currently weighs 40lbs and we’re guessing she won’t surpass 50 lbs, so she’ll be a nice, manageable size when full grown.” If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Story
Meet Ozy, a joyful border collie mix, whose luck changed thanks to his sister. Sheesh was pulled from a rural animal control, and she was such a wonderful dog that her foster decided she couldn’t leave the brother behind.  Ozy is about 8 months old and has a very similar personality to his sister. He’s happy, goofy, playful and super friendly with people and other dogs. According to a breed test done on Ozy’s sister, Ozy is likely half border collie, about 25 percent lab and small percentages of a few other breeds, including German Shepherd.  Ozy is an active older puppy who loves going on walks. He would love an active family who wants to take him on adventures. A playful doggy sibling and large fenced-in yard would be an added bonus!  Ozy is very smart and goes to his crate when he hears the word “crate.” He sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is solidly potty trained. He currently weighs 45 lbs and we’re guessing he won’t surpass 60 lbs, so he’ll be a nice, manageable size when full grown. Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Birmingham, AL Meet Tux! He is an 6 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 38 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Tux is nervous around strangers! He hasn’t been tested around older children. No younger children or dogs, due to his reactivity! He is on 10mg of fluoxetine daily. Tux has bitten the owner’s younger daughter 3 times. He first bit her when she poked him in the eye through a baby gate. He also bit her after she tried to take something from him. The third bite incident occurred while the owner had her back turned from her daughter, but she thinks it may have involved a goldfish. He nipped the owner’s mother twice. These incidents occurred when the owner was nursing her baby on the couch and her mother sat down next to her. He also nipped the owner’s father-in-law twice. One of those incidents occurred when her father-in-law tried to take a bone out of his mouth. The other incident occurred when they were watching football and her father-in-law jumped up and screamed. He also bit a trainer at their local dog daycare. The owner is surrendering him because of his bite history. They have done behavioral training, medication, and have kept him separate from people outside of their immediate family. If you think you can provide a great home for Tux, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Tux. Owner’s Contact Information: Jennie at jennieomalone@gmail.com.
