Charity is an engaging girl with a happy, lively attitude. Although not one for sitting still, she does know her sit command and also walks well on leash. She is eager to learn more and earn those training treats! After all, she loves you and she wants to please you! Yes, Charity is looking for an active partner and fast friend. She gets along with most dogs, but any dog friend needs to understand that she plays rough and loud. Charity shows signs of being housetrained, so she is ready to come right into your home and brighten your life.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~ Est DOB: Mar 2023~ Intake weight: 48#~ Adoption details/application: calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
These 3 beautiful girls were part of a hoarding case during our quarantine. The 2 black lab ladies were kept on the back porch, and based on their behavior and the condition of the porch, they’ve likely never been off that porch until now. The door to the porch was wide open for days and they were barely brave enough to poke their heads out. Our officers had to climb into the porch and carry them to the truck. The border collie mix las was in a pen off to the side of the property. She also didn’t know what to do when we let her out of the pen. All three girls, despite their living conditions, are the SWEETEST girls you’ll ever meet. They love to get pets and get so excited when we come up to their kennels. The collie mix was placed on a diet when she came in and will need to continue that for a while. The labs have some sort of skin condition that will need further care at a vet, but is likely due to prolonged fecal and urine exposure. Now, I want to start off this portion of the description by saying hoarding is a mental health disorder. Usually, hoarding is caused by an underlying mental health disorder or some type of trauma and requires professional mental health intervention. The owner involved in this case had good intentions, but terrible execution and couldn’t take care of herself, let alone her animals. This home is not livable for any creature. Let alone a human, 3 dogs, and at one point 40+ cats. All of this could have been avoided if help was sought after. Some people with hoarding disorder may not seek help because they're embarrassed about their behavior. However, if you think you or a loved one might have a hoarding disorder, you can consult a mental health professional.

Story
My name is Josie and I am looking for my forever home! I love going on hikes and playing in water, and I can play ball fetch all day long! Balls are my absolute favorite thing! I also enjoy going on walks/runs and getting attention from my people. Although I don't cuddle for long (I am such a busy body), I will following you around the house and lay against you when you are still. I know all the basic manors and even know some fun behaviors! I need a loving home where I can work my body and my brain! I am a double merel, and because of this I am fully deaf and partially blind in one eye. I know to potty outside and will behave in a crate, although I am good about staying home alone without it. I don't get along with other dogs who are dominant or want to bother me all the time. Cats and small children are fun to chase and herd. It might be best to go to a home with no kids or only older kids, no cats, no dogs (1 laid back submissive dog might be okay...).

LOWER FEE! $250.00 COVERS ADOPTION AND TRANSPORT ! This is Walker, a Border Collie mix. He's between 3 and 4 years old and weighs between 45 and 50 pounds. If you look closely at him, you'll see his heart in his eyes. That's because he is a true lover and an old soul, despite his young age. Walker wears a medium length, white and black coat which suits him well. In addition to his good looks, he is also a dog with a great temperament; he gets along well with other dogs, kids and his foster's cat. Walker would be a fine family dog. (posted 3/21/24, TN)(updated 11/10/24) LOWER FEE! $250: COVERS BOTH TRANSPORT AND ADOPTION. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.November 12, 2024, 4:09 pm

Story
Meet sisters Boo and Bop! They are 1 year old Collie and Beagle mixes. Boo wears a medium-length black and white coat with tan on her face and back legs. Bop sports a medium length white and tan coat. Boo has reached her mature weight of 31 pounds and Bop has reached her mature weight of 45 pounds. Boo can be a little shy at first, but once she warms up her radiating personality will show! Bop is a very calm and relaxed dog that loves to lay around and nap, while Boo is full of energy and loves to run around. They both do really well on a leash, and they get along wonderfully with other dogs. When they get excited, Boo does a little whine and Bop snorts like a pig. They are both very sweet and loving dogs and deserve a great home. Adopt one (or both!) of these sisters and let them fill your life with love and laughter! Story
Andre has never met a stranger, and he met many people after being abandoned at an apartment complex. Everyone loved him, but nobody could keep him - so we are helping him continue his search for a true family. Andre's best home is pretty much any home, as he loves all people and knows his basic commands already! He is fun loving but also loves lap time and some good cuddles in front of the tv. He enjoys other dogs and can match well with a dog companion who understands his vocal play style. ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~ Est DOB: Nov 2021~ Intake weight: 48# ~ Adoption details/application: calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm
