Story
Meet Yawoong-ee, also known as Meow! This handsome guy has a curious spirit and a touch of shyness. Meow can be a bit cautious with strangers at first, but given time, he warms up and reveals his affectionate side. Meow has experience living with children and will likely enjoy a home with older children and/or adults. At night, he becomes a lively explorer, ready to play and discover. Meow is searching for a patient and loving home where he can continue to thrive. He would benefit from a cat-savvy family. Yawoong-ee has tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Yawoong-ee can be adopted as a solo cat, or live with other cats (FIV+ is recommended, though living with FIV- cats can be done); this is up to the adopter. If the adopter has any questions about bringing an FIV+ cat into their home, we recommend they speak with their veterinarian.Yawoong-ee is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take him home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Story
Will, Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Jim Hopper, Eddie Munson, Steve Harrington, and Billy are brothers and can go home in pairs! These rats came all the way from Ohio, when their mothers were pulled from a very large hoarding case. 300 rats were seized from a single home, and many females were pregnant, leaving the shelter with upwards of 500 rats! These rats are fairly shy. They try to be brave and love baby puffs enough to take them directly from human hands, but they are still trying to learn that the world can be more than loud shelters and long car rides. They are looking for adult-only homes with no children under 16, as they tend to test hands with their teeth. With time and patience, we believe that they will warm up to people, but they will need to go to understanding homes with families who are willing to work with them on trust building to help them feel safe in this big, scary world.

Story
Meet Jones (aka “Dr. Jones”), a playful and energetic short-haired ginger cat. He loves playtime and is treat-motivated, so he’s probably a good candidate for training! He’s an adventurous fellow and has the capability of being a leash/hiking cat. He's also very handsome and loves a good chin scratch. He’s looking for a loving family/pet parent to give him some attention and love.

Story
Meet Mochi! Once a feral kitten born in a neighbor's backyard, Mochi was rescued at just 12 weeks old along with his brother, Kimchi, while I was working to address a feral cat colony in the neighborhood. With patience and love, these brothers have blossomed into sweet, affectionate companions. Kimchi is still a bit wary of humans, but is allowing pets while he eats and loves to play. Mochi adores pets, being brushed, and playing with his brother and my pet cat, Bug. Mochi is deeply bonded to his brother and they spend time napping, playing and grooming each other. They would thrive in a home together. Mochi is neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, and has perfect litter box manners...not one single accident! He's also great with kids, other cats, and dogs. If you are looking for 2 playful brothers to join your family, Mochi and Kimchi are ready to steal your heart!

Story
Kimchi and his brother Mochi were trapped as feral kittens at 12 weeks old while I was working to address a feral cat colony in the neighborhood. After months of care and socialization, they have made incredible progress! Kimchi is playful, curious and great with other cats, dogs, and children. He is neutered, vaccinated, flea-treated and has perfect litter box manners. While he is still a bit shy at first, he's come so far and will thrive with a patient, loving owner. Kimchi is very bonded with Mochi, so we would love to see them adopted together to bring double joy to their forever home!
