Story
Are you ready to welcome a little black magic into your life? Look no further than Ghost, the charming house panther with a heart of gold! This handsome 8 month-old kitten is breaking stereotypes and stealing hearts. With his sleek black fur and soulful eyes, Ghost is more than just a pretty face; he's a bundle of love waiting to brighten up your world. From the moment you meet him, you'll be enchanted by his sweet purrs and playful antics. Given up to a local shelter due to allergies, Ghost is not your ordinary kitten; he's an affectionate cuddle bug who enjoys nothing more than curling up in next to you while you watch TV or sharing your bed at night. He's a social butterfly who thrives on human interaction, loves to play and be involved in what you are doing. He sometimes gets carried away in play and will use your hand as a toy so not a good choice for a home with young children; he might enjoy having a young feline playmate, where he can romp and wrestle to his heart's content. Bombay cats are medium-sized cats with a muscular build. At first glance, a Bombay kitty might look like your average cat with black fur. But upon closer look, you notice that their noses and paw pads are also black. Even their whiskers are usually black. They're also shinier than your average black cat. Their glossy coats have a patent leather-like shine, because they were specifically bred to look like a black panther. Because they're highly active and playful, Bombay cats love environments with plenty of opportunities to climb and explore. Cat trees, cat shelves and interactive toys are must-haves for Bombay kittens and adults alike. It's true that black cats like Ghost are often overlooked for adoption, but he's here to change that narrative. Don't let his color fool you; he's just as loving and wonderful as cats of any other hue. Give Ghost the chance he deserves, and you'll be rewarded with a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories! Make him yours!! Posted 1/27/25

Story
Baby is part of a bonded pair with Mitzi. They must be adopted together. They are retired barn cats looking for a warm barn home where they can spend their senior years. Make way for the sweetest submarine you'll ever see! Baby's tail is always up and ready to lead you to the next adventure. She's also a talker and will happily meow to you about how her day has been. Baby's estimated birth date is March 2014, but don't underestimate her! She can keep up with younger cats and spends her nights exploring all over her home, batting toys along the way. She is bonded with her sister, Mitzi, and the two often pounce on each other like kittens. Baby is not picky about her food, but enjoys a combination of wet and dry, and prefers your attention over any treat. Baby is spayed, current on vaccines, tested negative for FeLV and FIV, and has been microchipped. Her adoption fee is sponsored. She must be adopted together with her sister, Mitzi. The two would do best in a quiet home with experienced cat owners.

Story
Leyla's Personality Beauty and brains, sweet and just a little bit sassy. This little charmer, whose nickname is "Miss Bean," will win you over in no time. Leyla loves hanging out with her foster parents and is always close. She likes to lay next to you on the couch - just provide a nice, soft fleece blanket. Leyla is super friendly and loves, loves, loves being brushed. She enjoys a gentle routine and rewards you with soft purrs and gentle head butts. Leyla came into SPCA's care pregnant - delivering six healthy kittens two days later. Once her kittens were weaned and adopted, Leyla became more playful as she learned to be a kitten again! Leyla goes nuts over a catnip-filled pillow. She sometimes gets the zoomies and chases just about anything that moves. Miss Bean won't wake you up for breakfast in the morning, but waits patiently by your side until you pet her, then she starts the day with the loudest purr. She loves to sleep on a soft blanket on the bed at night and occasionally chases your toes under the covers. Her favorite things are catnip toys, getting brushed and showing off her trick sitting on command for treats. If Leyla can’t find you, she lets out a little meow, and comes running when you call. She loves people, and is not shy at all. She is a perfect little companion. What Type of Home Leyla Needs This sweet, sassy girl needs a home where people are around for her to hang out with. She is not demanding, but likes to be near people. Leyla likes to be in charge of her territory and needs to be the only pet - no other cats or dogs. When Leyla is unsettled or anxious about new things, she can get a little over-stimulated and nip your hands - so no young children now or in the future. An older, cat-savvy child who has lived with cats before might be ok (over about 12 years of age). This behavior has subsided in her foster home now that she has settled in. Where Leyla Came From Leyla was rescued from outdoors by a kind man who found her abandoned in a park shortly before giving birth to six healthy kittens (all adopted). She was such a sweet, nurturing mama. Now its time for Leyla to have a home of her own.PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA.
