Story
I have had Maia since fall of 2021. While it hasn't necessarily been easy, I still deeply love her. Due to both concerns about the safety of my toddler and landlord restrictions, I need to surrender her to someone who is very experienced with cats with behavioral issues. Maia has high anxiety and it causes a wide range of issues. These include marking directly outside of the litter box or by entrances/along walls, over-scratching her litter box (very loud when covering), is not good with kids or other animals, especially cats — one incident of her causing severe wounds on my hand: she was aggravated by another cat at the door and I reacted poorly. It was absolutely my fault for reaching my hand between them! She just needs a home more suited for her: someone who lives alone, no kids or other pets, possibly works from home, and has plenty of time to give her love and affection. She doesn't mark when she is well tended to. Loyal, likes tummy rubs, play, cuddles, eating with you, zoomies.

Story
Mia is a very sweet, gentle cat who is wonderfully patient with children. She is extremely friendly and affectionate and would thrive in a home with someone who loves snuggling and companionship! She will even introduce herself to your guests, as she's very outgoing and likes to make new friends. Mia also has a good amount of energy, and loves to hunt for bugs, mice, and other critters. We got Mia from a shelter two years ago and have been blessed by her. Unfortunately, allergies have resurfaced for me that I thought were taken care of by shots when I was a child, and I am unable to keep her. She will be a gift to whoever can hang out with her, and should have a long, healthy life ahead of her! We do not know her exact age, but she seems youthful and energetic. She came to the shelter young, with a litter of kittens and a scratch on her eye. She does seem to lack sight in the injured eyed, but functions well without it, and seems unbothered!
