Tehya is an 8+ year-old sweetheart whos learning what it means to be loved after spending her early years in a puppy mill. Every day, she grows a little braver and a lot more adorable! This gentle girl is crate, leash, and house trained, rides nicely in the car, and gets along well with men, women, and other animals. While untested with children, she would do best in a calm home where she can relax and blossom at her own pace. Tehya is discovering the joys of home life following her foster buddy Moose into the living room, claiming her cozy bed, and curling up beside her person on the couch. She now comes out of her crate with a happy dance, wagging her tail and ready for snuggles when her foster parents come home. Her appetite is great, and she takes her grooming and ear care like a little champ. Shes making wonderful progress confidently exploring, enjoying quiet companionship, and learning that affection feels pretty amazing. Tehya would love another gentle dog in her new home to guide her as she continues to build confidence. At night, she prefers to snooze near her person, safe and content. Note, Tehya has sensitive ears and will need her ears flushed 2x a week. Dental work Tehya required has already been completed. Tehya is still discovering the world, one small victory at a time and its clear shes ready to keep blooming with a family who will cherish her gentle spirit and celebrate every happy dance to come. Frosty is a special 10 yr old Bichon Frise mix who has had a few trust issues in the past. When she came into foster, she needed time to adjust to her new surroundings and wasn't sure she could trust the people who were fostering her. With a great deal of patience and love, she has blossomed into a loving dog who now likes to cuddle with her foster mom on the couch or in bed. At first, she did not like her face, neck or near her tail touched. Touching these areas brought out fear and she could get snappy. But, over time, Frosty has learned that good things happen when people touch her. Her stress and fear have subsided significantly. When approached properly and positively, she welcomes human interactions.     She has been fully vetted and is up to date on her vaccines.  Going to the groomer is very stressful for Frosty so she is given medication to calm her before she goes but other than that she does not receive any medication other than her flea and tick meds.     Frosty will sit, stay, and will come quickly back to you when called.  She loves exploring the backyard and loves spending time there with her person.  She is housetrained but also uses pee pads when needed.   Frosty eats wet food twice a day due to the lack of teeth and also loves things like liver treats, watermelon, strawberries and broccoli.  Mention the word treat and she comes running to see what you have for her.   Frosty loves to go for walks and as soon as she sees the leash, sits quietly until you clip it onto her harness.  She  actually prances rather than walks. Using a harness is best for her as she sometimes pulls when she first starts out.  Other dogs, traffic and other people walking or riding do not bother her at all.  She is only interested in the next good smell and where she is going.  Frosty loves going for car rides and once you are on your way settles down and goes to sleep.   Frosty has been in the company of women and men but makes friends easier with women. An experienced owner with lots of time and patience would be the best fit for Frosty.
