Happy Birthday Henry! Henry celebrated his first birthday on Nov. 16, and his birthday wish is to find his forever home. Henry is a Bichon Frise/Havanese mix ready to start a new chapter of his life, and he is looking for someone to help him write it. This sweet, lovable boy is full of potential and will melt your heart with his playful personality and gentle nature. Henry may be shy at first, but with patience and understanding, he'll blossom into the loyal companion you've been looking for. Having spent his early days in a puppy mill, Henry is still learning to trust humans, but he's making great progress! He's looking for a loving home where he can continue to build his confidence and learn the ropes of the world. What Henry needs: ** A patient home with a family that uses positive reinforcement and understands he might need time to adjust ** A home where he can continue learning how to grow through puppy habits like potty training, leash walking, and chewing. What Henry offers: ** A cuddly, affectionate companion once he feels comfortable ** An adorable, soft coat that's perfect for snuggling ** A desire to please and be loved Henry is still a bit of a "work in progress" and is learning the basics like how to walk on a leash and perfecting his potty training. He's also discovering that not everything in the house is a chew toy (though he still loves to nibble on things now and then). But with some patience and consistency, he's sure to be the well-behaved dog of your dreams! He gets along well with other dogs and would do best in a home with another friendly, confident dog to show him the ropes, or with an experienced adopter who can give him the time and space he needs to flourish. If you're ready to give Henry the patience, love, and care he deserves, he'll reward you with unconditional love and a bond that's worth every bit of effort. "RAJA is pretty independent, another dog in home is not needed, however, he can be social with another dog" Meet Raja, a 12 yr old, 13 lb, male, Bichon Poodle Mix. He's such a Sweetheart! He loves his people and likes to initiate play with the other dogs his size. He gets along with cats too!! He's housebroken but does go outside frequently throughout the day. He would like a fenced yard to wonder around but does well on leash. He is Leash Trained. Don't let being 12 yr old fool you! Raja is a moderately active Senior Guy! He lays around a lot, he's a retired guy!, but will whine or bark to get your attention or to go out!  See the video posted on here. One other thing:  he's like a Mountain Goat! He lays on back of sofa, climbs on chairs and even "table surfs" but will lay on top of table to surprise you when you turn around from cooking!  AHHHH!! His previous parents could no longer care for him so he's looking for another family who will love him forever!   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Raja’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & able to drive for a meet and greet. We are a 100% foster-based rescue. Applications can be found on our website at gateway4paws.org Bosc is a sweet boy who has been looking for his very own family for over a year but no one has been interested in him. He loves to be held & snuggles when it is storming outside. He is a timid boy and would prefer to just come to you when he wants to. His family should be prepared to give him plenty of time to get used to being around hands, humans, & home activity. Bosc will not walk or do potty business while on a harness and leash. Therefore, he must have a secure physically fenced yard. In time, his family can work on leash training, but he isn't ready for that right now. Bosc enjoys the company of his foster brothers and sisters. He looks to them for guidance so this will be a requirement for Bosc. They also need to be of similar size to Bosc or smaller. Bosc has shown measurable improvement in potty training. While in the house, his mom uses a belly band for him. This allows her the opportunity to correct his behavior without the panic of getting the furniture or carpet soiled. He is doing well, but again, his training needs time, praise, & consistency. Bosc will be the perfect companion to just hang out at home relaxing. Please apply if you are prepared to dedicate time & love to giving Bosc the family he has always deserved.
