Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Adoptable Junnie! Junnie is a 3 1/2-year-old, Malinois mix who is looking for his forever home! He has been waiting for a foster or forever home with is almost 3 years 😔 and would love his happy ending to come soon! Junnie is a happy and sweet boy and loves to play and be active! He will require a very active family that has experience with working breeds. He would make a great running/ hiking partner and LOVES to play fetch. He needs to be mentally and physically stimulated so he would also do great with agility, games and nose work. Junnie is still learning how to socialize with other dogs and can be reactive and mouthy, as Malinois are, with other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home but with training and support could be fine around other dogs out and about. He will require a home with a fenced yard, no apartments. Junnie is not tested with kids but since he still needs to catch up on training and can be jumpy, he would be best in a home with older kids or adults. No cats. Junnie is on the wait list to be neutered and will be neutered prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Introducing this little angel, Lexi! She is a 1-year-old, 26lb Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Lexi looks like a mini–Belgian Malinois, and should not be growing any bigger than where she is at now, so she will remain a very manageable size! She is incredibly loving, sweet, and gets along great with everyone. Lexi is very smart and learns quickly, which will make training a breeze! Lexi has done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog to a home, or she would be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. She is looking for a person and family to call her own, as she will be a very loyal and loving companion to any lucky adopter that brings her home! We are looking for a standalone home with a fenced yard outside of the busy city. Lexi is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Profile: Buttercup is a 3-year-old, 55 lb spayed female "Texas Brown Dog" who joined us from Texas on 7/15/22 as an unsure adolescent. We have worked diligently with her in training to improve her confidence so she can be successful in her forever home. Foster Update: This young and energetic girl will do anything for a treat and very much wants to please her humans. She is building confidence; however, her anxious energy translates to reactivity at times. Off-leash she greets humans with excitement or indifference both in the house and the yard. She is doing well with the three large resident male dogs in the house after structured integration. She can play all day and has benefited from dog companions who can gently correct and/or join in her exuberance, as well as lead her in confident appropriate behaviors. She is potty trained and crate trained and often goes into her crate on her own to relax. She has demonstrated some significant prey drive toward the neighbors cat, so we think this girl will be best in a cat free home. While in foster care, Buttercup has received training from Bulletproof Balanced Training; her adopter will receive a private take-home training session. This girl is destined to be a wonderful loving member of her forever pack. Adopter Profile: Adult-only household Large breed experience preferred Secure fenced yard preferred Other dogs preferred (not required) Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA guidelines, negative heartworm test for dogs 6 months and older, and microchip. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application  November 2, 2024, 1:46 am

Story
MEET RED! Red is a 1-1/2-year old loving and highly intelligent dog in need of a forever home! He is currently in a foster home in the Greater Seattle area. Red is great mix of smart and loyal breeds. He is part German Shepherd and Rottweiler, with a few other breeds like Border Collie and Australian Shepherd thrown in. (We did a DNA test - we're happy to share it!). Red is such a great dog in many ways: He is dog friendly, kid friendly and active. He is eager to learn, and will be excited to continue his training with a human companion. (He currently went through obedience training!). He does well off leash on walks in the country, and has wonderful recall. Once he knows you, he does not run off. He is constantly looking for fun things to chase but will look to you for permission and “leave it” when told. Red is also praise motivated and a fast learner. He gets along well with other dogs (loves dog parks!) but needs some gentle correction when he first meets friends because he excites easily at play time. He loves to romp with similar energy dogs, and he would thrive in a pack. He has a strong prey drive, but with proper instruction he has left the cat alone in his current foster home. He is always looking to his person for guidance and commands. Red is also great with all people once he has been slowly introduced to them as his desire to guard his family comes naturally to him. He is not toy or food aggressive, and is crate trained. He loves going for car rides and can be left alone while running errands (he does get car sick now and then). For long trips he may need medication until he hopefully grows out of it. He gets bored easily, should not be left outside in the yard unattended and would do best with someone who works from home or is retired, and who can give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. At the end of the day, Red enjoys lying by your feet or next to you on a couch. He is a snuggler and wants to be close to his people. He's such an awesome dog and companion. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal and active dog and are excited to continue to be his partner in training, Red would be perfect for you. He weighs 70 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Name: Harris Age: 2 years Breed: German Shepherd Health Status: Heartworm positive (treatment provided) About Harris: Harris is a charming 2-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit that will capture your heart. He was found camping out at an abandoned hospital alongside his lady friend and 40 other dogs, showing incredible resilience despite the challenges he faced. Now, he’s ready to embark on a new adventure with a loving family. Though heartworm positive, Harris’ joyful personality shines through. His friendly demeanor makes him the perfect companion for families, individuals, or anyone looking to add a loyal friend to their life. Heartworms are alarmingly common in stray dogs in the Houston area, primarily due to the region’s warm and humid climate, which creates ideal conditions for mosquitoes—the primary carriers of the heartworm parasite. Heartworm treatment will be provided for him and his new family.  When you choose to adopt a heartworm positive dog, you're not just giving them a second chance at life—you're also embracing the opportunity to make a profound difference in their journey to recovery. Heartworm positive dogs are often overlooked, but they are just as loving, loyal, and deserving of a forever home as any other pup. By adopting one, you’ll experience the joy of watching them blossom into a healthy, happy companion. Your love and care can help them overcome this challenge, and in return, they will shower you with unconditional affection and gratitude for the rest of their lives.  Personality: Harris is the definition of easy-going. He’s incredibly friendly and gets along wonderfully with people and other pets alike. His gentle nature makes him great with kids, and he thrives on human companionship. His intelligence shines through in his training – he’s already crate-trained and walks beautifully on a leash. Whether you’re taking a stroll in the park or snuggling on the couch, Harris is up for the task! Why Harris Needs You: Harris is looking for a loving home where he can continue to thrive. He’s ready to bring joy, companionship, and a sense of peace to your household. With your support, he can overcome his heartworm status and live a long, healthy life by your side. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal friend who has already shown so much courage, Harris is waiting for you!  To add Harris to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. He is wagging his tail and wiggling his butt at just the thought of finding his forever home and his story is just beginning! His next chapter could be with you!
