This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. Blitz…or as we call her …Blitz-a-rooni is the total package. She was found on the streets in horrific shape …mange and secondary skin infections which left her unidentifiable as a breed…one in a home and understanding no one was going to hurt her she quickly flourished. The beautiful part of the mange is meds and quality nutrition healed her physically in no time…almost to where she doesn’t even look like the same dog…then she learned the ins and outs of a home and sharing life with other 2 legged and 4 legged…she figured out fluffy blankets right away and determined they were a definite requirement in her home…LOL She had resource guarding of her food which was not real issue as we feed our dogs in crate …but she also does very well with getting treats etc or even the shared ice cube in our home. I don’t blame her for being a little selfish when it comes to food, as it was evident she had to be protective to survive. She has turned out to be a definite chug butt ..solid and smaller in stature she is a brick of love. We have 3 Malinois and my husband kept saying she looks mal and I did not agree lol so we did a DNA and I’ll be darned if she isn’t 50 percent Belgian Malinois…What I see in this is a smart girl…but without the anxiety of the mal breed…which is a huge blessing I feel like she is the best of all her breeds …She is fabulous in crate…I simply tell her to go to her room and she doesn’t make a peep. She is a bit of a Velcro dog and just wants to be with her person. She is easy on a leash and would be amazing to work and train. Her activity level is moderate, and she gets definite zoomies…does great with all my dogs but is best with dogs her size or larger. Her prey drive for smaller is intact. She loves kids but I always recommend with the power and intelligence older kids. She has found her diva side…loving all things soft, blankets, rugs, towels, all things stuffy toys and if you are close by, she will snuggle right in. The only thing she doesn’t like is when in crate and you are a stranger, and you stare at her…but out of crate loves with all her chunkiness. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Adoptable Junnie! Junnie is a 3 1/2-year-old, Malinois mix who is looking for his forever home! He has been waiting for a foster or forever home with us for 3 years and would love his happy ending to come soon! Junnie is a happy and sweet boy and loves to play and be active! He will require a very active family that has experience with working breeds. He would make a great running/ hiking partner and LOVES to play fetch. He needs to be mentally and physically stimulated so he would also do great with agility, games and nose work. Junnie is still learning how to socialize with other dogs and can be reactive and mouthy, as Malinois are, with other dogs. He needs to be the only dog in the home but with training and support could be fine around other dogs out and about. He will require a home with a fenced yard, no apartments. Junnie is not tested with kids but since he still needs to catch up on training and can be jumpy, he would be best in a home with older kids or adults. No cats. She can play all day and has benefited from dog companions who can gently correct and/or join in her exuberance, as well as lead her in confident appropriate behaviors. She is potty trained and crate trained and often goes into her crate on her own to relax. She has demonstrated some significant prey drive toward the neighbors cat, so we think this girl will be best in a cat free home. Animal Profile: Roxy is a 17 week old Malinois Shepherd mix who wound up in the Stanislaus shelter as a stray, she been there since Jan 11th. The shelter staff says she's super sweet, loves other dogs and people. We can’t wait to meet her! Foster Update: Roxy is energetic, agile, sassy girl that is absolutely incredible. She is smart, patient, persistent, and oh so snuggly. She is doing excellent with her potty training, and basic obedience. Her weakness, however, is that she is a bit jumpy and nippy when aroused. This is typical puppy and breed standards, but needs supervision around small children. She is very vocal with every type of noise, which is comical. Poor Bella was seen being dumped by her owner on a commercial street where big rigs constantly are passing through. It took a few days for us to build her trust to bring her to safety in our yard. Full of ticks and fleas we were able to clean her and give her love and attention which by the looks of it she never had love since she had the collar marks embedded into her fur where she had been tied up :( Bella loves toys and gets the zoomies when excited. She loves to run so preferably go to someone with a big yard or an active person. She is always high alert so she is always taking care of the house. She is very loyal to her person and shows how grateful she is to her foster family. She has her own personality and just wants love attention and she is ready to be spoiled by her forever family. * she will need a 6 foot fence * she does get along with dogs but gets jealous about her person *no cats *loves to Play in kiddie pool *walks on leash ok but still learning not to pull Bella Marie deserves a real home and will be your most loyal buddy ever!!! Calista is a beautiful, crazy, playful, rambunctious 2 year old German Shepherd. Found out in the woods in Rio Grande Valley with her mom and sister fending for themselves and trying to survive the coyotes. She was very skittish when she arrived at the rescue, and at times can still be, but she has come a long way. She gets excited and does a crazy spin in her excitement. She loves playing with other dogs, loves treats and playing with her foster siblings. She really needs a patient person who knows the breed and is willing to work with her and have the dedication to wait until she shows her very silly side :) Her foster mom has learned her secret- treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them.
