He had clearly experienced a lot in his young life, but this gentle soul never stopped hoping for a second chance. Thanks to his amazing foster mom, Gus has blossomed. With confidence, structure, and love, he’s learned that the world isn’t so scary after all. He’s gaining manners, trust, and joy every single day — showing just how resilient and special he is. Gus is about 4 years old, a handsome Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix, and still young enough to enjoy adventures while mature enough to appreciate calm moments with his people. Story
Cooper is a one of a kind dog. He is very rare. He is what's called a Phu Quoc Ridgeback. Possibly mixed with malinois but if he is mixed he's predominantly Phu Quoc. He has the ridge. He is a hunting dog. My ideal home for him would be someone with a yard a big yard where he can run and chase squirrels. He cannot go to home with other dogs that are small or cats. He is prey driven. He is a marker and may pee in the house and he might poop. However if he does poop in the house he's smart enough to keep it in the bathroom. He's very loyal loving smart just temperamental if he's left alone for too long he's going to try to teach you a lesson by getting in the trash peeing acting a fool. But he is beautiful and loyal. Fun to play with. He can be mouthy and gnaw at you sometimes. I love this guy but he needs more than what I can offer him.

Scooby Doo is an incredibly unique doberman/malinois mix (per DNA test)! Scooby is the GOOFIEST dog in the world. He has basic obedience training, is crate trained, housebroken and gets along with other large dogs. Scooby loves to cuddle with his humans, going on adventures and play play playing. Scooby has the genetics of 2 breeds known for their protective temperaments. Genetics will always play a part in his character, so he will need proper introductions to strangers- especially those entering his territory. Scooby has come a long way learning to trust strangers and disengage but he will need an adopter who is experienced with working breeds. Scooby is NOT a working candidate. He has a lot of environmental sensitivities. He is a big old scardey-cat. His barking may make you think he’s tough, but alas, he is not. He needs someone who will be a fair but gentle leader and who will continue his training with dedication. This boy is smart as a whip if you know how to listen to him and speak to him in a way he understands. Scooby is medium energy and his perfect adopter would be an active person who can take him on many adventures! Scooby would probably be ok with older kids, but he has not been officially tested yet- will update once he is.

Sierra is another one of our embankment mals! She can still be slightly timid with new men, but is very social once she gets to know you! Sierra is a goofy goofy girl with a deformed front leg. That leg doesn’t slow her down one bit! Sierra is still super active and loves going for adventures in the car and on hikes. Sierra is still working on her doggy socialization skills and obedience, but is coming along well. She is crate trained and does walk well on leash. No small animals or dog parks for Sierra.

Donner is the most timid of the embankment mals when it comes to humans and will need a foster/adopter who is calm, patient and prepared to continue his training to build his confidence. He is a goofy, loving and playful boy once he knows you’re a friend and will definitely look to his handler for direction.

We have had him for about a year now and we got him as a gift from a family member, they picked him up at the Nevada humane society. We were told he is a German shepherd husky mix (unclear). He is a little over a year old and is full of love and energy. He needs someone with patience as he does have plenty of energy to give. He is really good with kids, other dogs (big or small) and cats as I’ve seen so far. He is good in a crate but he does get a little stir crazy if in there for long. He is a good type of protective, Ive never seen a vicious or violent side of him. He is also a good car ride dog, he can be chill in the car and enjoys the ride. He is a smart dog and seems to be an easy dog to train but I do not have the time to do that myself. I am needing a new home for him asap because I feel I cannot give him the life he needs. He needs a loving home but with plenty of room to get his energy out. He would do well in a family home or someone wanting a buddy to take everywhere.
