*** COURTESY LISTING *** PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL THE PERSON LISTED. DO NOT CONTACT WARF AS WE HAVE NO FURTHER INFO. Buddy is a lovely, sweet young dog that loves people, is extremely smart, and very eager to learn. He is very affectionate and very playful. He constantly looks into your eyes with curiosity and direction, and comes over for petting and snuggles. He is well-behaved and very attentive to direction and correction. He is a young dog and sometimes explores the kitchen counters, but immediately stops on command . He is very active and needs daily exercise, at least 2 hours per day (play w other dogs, fetching, hikes, etc.). He sits, lays down, fetches, and will stay on command. He appears to have had some training, and responds very well to training. He's been fantastic with other dogs, no aggression, wants to play, sometime over-eager. Since he's young and a Mal, he has a lot of play energy. Buddy loves everyone he meets. He may bark at first, but immediately warms up and enjoys meeting people. Buddy is food motivated (good for training). No food issues. Eats his kibble, but enjoys veggies and fruit too. No food guarding or possessiveness at all. Buddy has not displayed any aggressive tendencies. No guarding food or toys. His food or toys can be handled while he's involved and he accepts it without any issue. Buddy is still getting used to his various surroundings and has a tendency to bark if he hears noises. He responds very well to "Quiet", but will need some training to be less reactive to noises. Of course, he's a bit in shock with new environment and I assume will reduce or stop once he feels secure and safe. Buddy is fine on leash, but can pull. He needs loose-leash training but this should be easy considering how smart he is and how eager he is to learn. We have not let him off leash yet. Buddy sleeps through the night in the foster's bed, but can be easily trained to sleep in a crate or dog bed. Buddy let's you know when he needs to go by staring at his fosters or going to the door. He is learning quickly. As a malinois, Buddy requires 2 hours or more exercise per day. Ideally Buddy gets to run with other dogs and sprint and tug of war type play. He settles down nicely at night.
