Story
Junior is an energetic and intelligent young Belgian Malinois with a striking appearance and an impressive athletic build. Junior is a highly driven and motivated dog, always eager to learn and please. He thrives on physical activity and mental stimulation, making him an ideal companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. When he isn’t training he enjoys going on long walks, rolling around in the dirt, and belly scratches! Junior has received basic obedience training and is quick to pick up new commands. However, due to his high energy levels and strong drive, he requires an experienced owner who can provide him with consistent training and firm yet positive guidance. Junior excels in tasks that require focus and precision, such as agility and obedience. His ideal owner will be someone who can provide him with plenty of physical exercise, mental challenges, and opportunities to work. Junior would thrive in a home where he has a job to do, whether it`s participating in dog sports or simply being a loyal and active companion. If you are interested in adopting Junior please contact our Behavior and Flow Coordinator Erica Jackson at ericaj@hsvc.org.

Story
I’m a smart, easy-going, and playful girl who loves to take things at my own pace. I can be a little shy at first with new people, but once I feel comfortable, I’ll be your best friend! I do great with other dogs and love having furry friends to hang out with. When I’m not playing or exploring, you’ll find me lounging or rolling around in my yard—there’s just something about the grass that makes me feel so happy! If you’re looking for a chill yet adventurous gal who’s ready to enjoy life at a relaxed pace (with plenty of fun in between), I could be the one for you!

Story
I’m a smart, energetic, and affectionate guy with a lot of potential. I know my basic commands and I’m eager to learn more, but I do best with a confident owner who can match my energy and keep me mentally and physically challenged. I’ve got a high drive, so I need someone who’s ready to give me the structure and activity I crave!I would make an awesome hiking buddy (I’ve got the energy for it!), but I can also calm down, sit at your feet, and be your cuddle buddy when the adventure is over. I’m good with other dogs, though I’d do best with a confident handler who can manage me well. If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate dog who loves to work and play, I could be the perfect fit!

Story
MEET SWEET FREYA.... Freya was rescued from a crowded California shelter in the nick of time. While there, she was kenneled with another dog, and was calm and gentle. She loves other dogs and is very playful, and she's a sweetheart with people. Freya is also a bit shy but will blossom once she knows you. She is likely a Belgian Malinois-shepherd cross. Freya is about 1-1/2 years old and is currently looking for a foster or forever home. She weighs about 55-60 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Here are some of Crystal’s favorite things: playing fetch or tug, chasing squirrels, cheese, getting a belly rub from someone she knows, a frozen Kong treat, riding in a car in a crate, going on hikes. Her nickname is ‘mouse’ because of her big ears, long whiskers and her love of cheese. She is not a dog for everyone, but if you are looking for an engaged, smart, and motivated partner, she is a dog for you. If you are a Malinois person and appreciate their energy, loyalty and careful caution—she has it all. Her other nickname: 0 to 60! The other thing we appreciate about Malinois—intensity—she has that too! Crystal would excel at scent work or any dog sport that is individually based. She’s got the chops to learn and grow and has the potential to evolve with her person in conjunction with the growth of your relationship. She is very sweet and affectionate with those she knows. She came to us via a shelter in Sacramento where she had been found as a stray. The shelter noticed her toy drive (still very much intact!) and that was that. We’ve taken our time in getting to know her and figuring out what she likes (and doesn’t) and, sadly for us, it’s not USAR work that floats her boat. She has the potential to thrive in a job, if she could find the right fit and has the talent for detection work. We think she might like an adult partner (or partners) who understands Malinois, is very active and can provide outlets for her energy and her love of toy play, relationship and learning. She might like a nice yard where she can keep the squirrels out and a place to sit with you after her job is done. She might like a job or a sport, depending on what it is. She would definitely like to hike with you. She would probably like a neighborhood where she can be out and about without a ton of other dogs or people around all the time. The main thing is, if she likes you, she will be an endless source of joy and education as she blooms in your care.

Story
Hi, I`m Libra! I`m a stunning female Belgian Malinois with a friendly and energetic personality. As a member of the working breed family, I thrive in an active environment and will need an adopter with a busy, on-the-go lifestyle. If you love hiking, running, or outdoor adventures, I`m the perfect match for you!I will need plenty of space to stretch my legs, so a large yard or open area where I can run freely is ideal. I`m incredibly smart, loyal, and full of energy, making me a great companion for someone ready to engage me both mentally and physically. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, high-energy dog who’s always ready for action, I`m your girl! I currently live offsite at the SPARC ranch, so if you think I might be the right dog for your lifestyle, and would like to meet me, please call SPARC at 805-525-8609 and we will give you directions and contact information to come to the ranch. I can`t wait to meet you!

Story
@vcanimalservices SEARCHING for special home for special boy ?? Meet Zuko, a 3yr old Belgian Malinois. Zuko arrived last year after being caught in the hills. We believe he had very little exposure to humans or every day life, and as such was fearful, unsure, and defensive towards people and dogs around him. With lots of patience and work from staff & volunteers, Zuko has made incredible progress. He’s learned to trust his regular handlers, and will even seek gentle affection from them. He loves getting outside, running, playing fetch, and exploring with his trusted friends by his side. In foster care, he has also shown that he can adapt to a calm home environment! He’s crate-trained, enjoys being cozy/sleeping wherever his human is, and thrives in a predictable routine. To help him navigate new situations and people safely, he’s been trained to wear a muzzle and does so with ease. Though he’s never bitten anyone, he may sometimes react out of fear, so the peace of mind is welcome for him and us! Zuko would do best with an adopter who understands his needs, the breed, and is comfortable working with a fearful dog. He’ll thrive in a calm, structured home, preferably as the only dog, although he has made some canine friends here at the shelter. If you’re patient and ready to provide Zuko with the support he needs, he’ll reward you with trust, loyalty, and a lifetime of companionship. Adopting Zuko will require a bit of a time commitment up front. His humans will need make several visits with him at the shelter to get to know each other, and establish trust! We want to support Zuko and his new family, and will provide follow up training sessions. If you are interested in learning more about Zuko, please email animal.care@ventura.org to get started. Story
Yvette is in foster care in Huntington Beach SO Cal area. Please note this dog is located in SO Calif. Because of the overpopulation and high kill rate of shelter dogs in our area we are trying to find our dogs good homes in other areas. Please contact us for transport information. Yvette is such a nice compact little shepherd girl who is almost 3yrs old and weighs 60 pounds. She has been waiting awhile for a family and her friend we rescued with her has been adopted leaving Yvette alone and waiting. She is gentle and playful with other dogs the same size as her in her playgroup. She likes toys, scampering and bowing around the play yard and is great in the car and on leash. She still has puppy energy and may play a little to hard to be with really small dogs and she doesn't care for kitties. For a family this dog has an amazing personality and does her best to mind and please. Yvette could play ball from sunrise till bedtime and never tires of her favorite toy. She like water and on hot days can be seen splashing contentedly in her kiddie pool. The beach lake or river would be her idea of Heaven. If you want a sweet new family friend please email Alphadogpetrescue@yahoo.com and ask for our adoption application. Adopt fee is $300 and she is fully vetted, shots, chipped and spayed.
