Dog Day Out notes from last week: Today, I was so happy to get out of my kennel! I got to put on a collar and harness, and I got to go in a car!! I love the car! I wanted to help drive, but my new friends said I should eat cookies instead, so I looked out the window. I love going for walks! We walked a long way! I wanted to be in front, but my friends would stop, so I got to give them snuggles when they did that – I like snuggles more than cookies! We saw so many things! People and dogs and lots and lots of bikes! I don't worry about those things though, I have my friends! I almost tried to catch a squirrel, but it got away. That's okay; I gave more snuggles to my friends! Oh! And on the way back, I took a nap – I loved the quiet time. Three Words to Describe Me are affectionate – snuggly - and friendly. Notes from My Walker: Traviesa is such a delight! She pulls on the leash, but it seems like she just never got a chance to learn how to walk on a leash before. She did amazing on the busy trail – we saw bikes, walkers, and dogs, and she was non-reactive to almost everything. The small, barky dog got her attention, but he started talking first, and she displayed interest, with no reactive lunging or barking. She is not a cookie girl, but she LOVES to snuggle. We love it when dogs on the trail check in with their human friends, but Traviesa was at another level; she would stop and lean in for a hug before continuing the walk! She is a sweet, gentle, loving dog who deserves a home that will let her learn and give her the chance to be a fantastic companion dog.

Fan-Fan’s rescue story: Fan and her two siblings were strays found at a bus parking lot since very young age. The parking lot owner said someone abandoned them when they were around 2-m-o. The parking lot owner just provide food to them but has no intention to keep them for his own; so he contacted us to help finding home for them. Fan went through a complete physical, unfortunately was found with heartworm. After months of thorough treatments, she is fully recovered and has received a clean bill of health. An active household that is confident in working with energetic dogs will be the perfect fit for Sidney, ensuring she receives the exercise and mental stimulation she needs to flourish.08/25/24 23:17DOG DAY OUT REPORT Today: my friend took me on a 6.5 mile jog around Shady Oaks Park, along Coyote Creek Trail and through Hellyer Industrial Park. I was so excited to go out that I was hopping around like Tigger as we got ready to go on our adventure. I was a bit nervous getting into the car, but my friend showed me what to do and after that, I was confident doing it on my own. On the trail, there were so many things to smell, I didn’t know what to do with myself - I was bouncing all over. There were lots of foxtails though, so we decided to jog for a while but once it was safe, my friend let me get in all the sniffs. There were a lot of distractions on our walk, and some I was nervous about, so my friend helped me through those moments. I also really enjoyed chasing all the squirrels. After our long jog, we cooled down in the shade, where I got treats and pets.Three Words to Describe Me are: Athletic, Sweet-natured, Vigilant

Naomi Grace is a 70 lb. German Shepherd/Lab and she is such a sweet girl. We adopted her at 9 weeks from Humane Society Silicon Valley in 2022. She will be 2 years old this December. Naomi loves hugs and all of the attention. Unfortunately, I have to re-home her. My husband passed away suddenly 3 months ago and my daughter and I are moving out of California. My husband worked from home and was with her during the day. Since we are moving, I will not be able to care for her, as I work full time outside of the home. Naomi is very loving. Hugs and cuddles are her favorite. She is crate trained and it is her safe place. The ideal home would be one with lots of love and care and enough space for Naomi to run around.
