Story
**Currently in foster** Meet Maxi! Maxi is a 9 year old malinois mix that weighs about 60 pounds. Maxi is a queen of fetch! She sits and lays for balls, waiting with patience for you to throw them. Maxi is also a fan of treats. She makes friends everywhere she goes and is always excited to see new people.  When meeting other dogs, she tends to be indifferent to them and prefers to hang out with the people.  Interested in adopting? Visit our shelter during open hours and ask about Maxi A053859.November 4, 2024, 6:39 pm

Story
We got Dakota as a puppy from a retired officer in our area. Her parents were beautiful and very friendly. Dakota's birthday is August 10, 2019. She loves to just hang out with our kids. She got along with our previous GSD before she was relocated to Washington with our oldest daughter. We have been so busy and rarely home to spend time with her. Our kids are very active in sports and ministry so our time is very limited, let alone keeping up with her needs. Keeping her right now would not be fair to her as we cannot devote enough time with her. She is sweet, loving, and also energetic. Our hope is that she go to a loving home where she'll be able to enjoy the family for the remainder of her years. She will come with her harness and a few leads we've used with her along the way. We are not asking for adoption fees, just a family who can take care of her and love her .

Adoption Event Schedule Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations: 2nd Saturday, Sacramento - Pet Food Express 3rd Saturday, Modesto - PetSmart 4th Saturday, Roseville - Pet Food Express Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information. Adoption Fee:  $100.00 Sasha is a female Belgian Malinois that is approximately 10 years old.  She came to us when her elderly owner passed away.  She was an outdoor only dog for the last half of her life. Everything inside her foster’s home was new to her. She has very quickly learned about the creature comforts of being indoors, surrounded by people, and what treats are. Sasha sleeps in a crate at night, and has learned to use the doggie door to go outside.  She is fostered in a home with two other female dogs, and does well with them.  There are also grandchildren who regularly visit and she does well with them.  She loves to give hugs to everyone. She knows basic commands like sit, lay down, and she is working on wait/stay.  Sasha is looking for a home who will help her explore the new world and continue training. No cats or small critters. Level 2 As a senior, Sasha's adoption fee is sponsored through 12/31/24.  Submit an Adoption Questionnaire to meet her soon. Understanding Dog Levels Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. Go to our home page for an explanation of the Dog Rating Levels. (https://www.gcgsr.org/dogs.html#levels)  Additional Adoption Information For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (https://www.gcgsr.org/adopt_info.html) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state. She walk well on a leash -no pulling. She met a few people and she loved everyone. We saw some dogs she wanted to be friends with everyone. She saw some geese and squirrels with no reaction, just curious. When I gave her treats she took them out of my hand so gently. She is great in the car.She was pure delight. We went for a walk near the river. We went to In and Out burger for lunch and walked through the park so people could meet her. Sweetest dog ever!! I can`t say one negative thing about her!!!!!
