Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMeet Frodo, a sweet and lovable pup who’s ready to be your new best friend! At around 2 years old and 70 lbs, this Malinois mix is a great blend of affectionate, playful, and gentle. With his long legs and even longer snout, Frodo’s got a charming look that will melt your heart every morning with kisses and happy tail wags. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Frodo is house-trained (not a single accident!) and non-destructive—he hasn’t chewed on anything he’s not supposed to and just gently nibbles on a tennis ball now and then. When it comes to treats, he’s super gentle, and he’s respectful of counters and furniture, making him easy to have around the house. He occasionally mouths a hand or leg when he’s feeling playful, but he’s so gentle and easily redirected with treats or toys. On walks, Frodo is calm and curious. He’s non-reactive to people, bikes, cars, and other dogs, and while he may stop to check out a passing pup, he’s easy to get moving again. He likes to keep a brisk pace (those long legs love to stretch!), and while he might pull lightly on the leash, he’s still quite manageable. Frodo loves people and thrives on companionship. He’s a little reserved when meeting new faces, allowing gentle pets from strangers, but once he warms up, he’s a big cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. Because of his strong desire for company, Frodo has some separation anxiety and barks when left alone—he would do best in a home where he won’t be alone often or with a family that can help him learn to feel safe and secure. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who just wants to be by your side, Frodo is ready to bring all his love and sweetness into your life. October 5, 2024, 10:50 am

Story
Odette is a cheerful and spirited Belgian Malinois who loves the outdoors and can keep up with an active lifestyle. She is gentle and affectionate, often giving sweet kisses to her fosters and handling her treats and toys with care. Playful and social, Odette enjoys the company of other dogs when properly introduced. Odette thrives when she has a job to do and appreciates a home where her humans can delegate tasks to her. She loves to stay productive but also cherishes essential snuggle time. She is well-behaved in the house, enjoys cuddling on the couch, and sleeps on the bed near the pillow. However, Odette is not suited for first-time dog owners, homes with small children, small pets, or cats due to her high prey drive. A fence might slow her down, but it won't stop her from chasing critters. Belgian Malinois are historically herding animals and can make excellent guard dogs. Odette would thrive in a home with ample space to roam and attentive humans who can provide her with the mental and physical stimulation she needs. Additionally, Odette loves camping, making her an ideal companion for outdoor adventures. She is ready to begin her forever adventure. To schedule a meet and greet, fill out the online application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/RTUG/Dog. A volunteer will respond in a few days.

Nakano turned 6 years old on July 25 of this year. She is a purebred Belgain Mallanois who was purchased from MalMan K9 breeders in Pleasanton, CA. She is a wonderful dog, no health or behavioural issues whatsoever. We have all of her breeder paperwork as well as her full veterinary visit history. She is fully up-to-date with shots. We are planning to retire to Italy and cannot bring her with us so we are looking for a great new home for her.

Additional information about this animal is available as of August 10th, 2024. It will be provided to an interested party or rescue. Dog Day Out notes from last week: Today, I was so happy to get out of my kennel! I got to put on a collar and harness, and I got to go in a car!! I love the car! I wanted to help drive, but my new friends said I should eat cookies instead, so I looked out the window. I love going for walks! We walked a long way! I wanted to be in front, but my friends would stop, so I got to give them snuggles when they did that – I like snuggles more than cookies! We saw so many things! People and dogs and lots and lots of bikes! I don't worry about those things though, I have my friends! I almost tried to catch a squirrel, but it got away. That's okay; I gave more snuggles to my friends! Oh! And on the way back, I took a nap – I loved the quiet time. Three Words to Describe Me are affectionate – snuggly - and friendly. Notes from My Walker: Traviesa is such a delight! She pulls on the leash, but it seems like she just never got a chance to learn how to walk on a leash before. She did amazing on the busy trail – we saw bikes, walkers, and dogs, and she was non-reactive to almost everything. The small, barky dog got her attention, but he started talking first, and she displayed interest, with no reactive lunging or barking. She is not a cookie girl, but she LOVES to snuggle. We love it when dogs on the trail check in with their human friends, but Traviesa was at another level; she would stop and lean in for a hug before continuing the walk! She is a sweet, gentle, loving dog who deserves a home that will let her learn and give her the chance to be a fantastic companion dog.

Story
Hound is not actually a hound-dog, but it was already his official name when he arrived at the shelter. We’re not exactly sure of his exact breed mix, but he’s 100% gorgeous. Hound has a silky black coat and a sweet personality to match. He’s young and energetic, and really likes to be around his people. Hound is very social and loves to get out and to be engaged. He appears housetrained and also walks nicely on leash, not reacting to other dogs and sometimes seeming barely to notice them. When he does, he seems to want to play. Hound also loves treats and should be a breeze to train because he is so attentive. He is an option for just about any family and hopes to meet you soon.

Story
FOSTER CARE! Hello, my name is Kurlys!  I'm a 1 and a half year old, neutered male, German Shepherd, Alaskan Malamute mix that currently weighs about 80lbs.  I'm still a growing boy so I'll do best with a family that is prepared for a very large dog. I'm a curious boy that loves human attention and can't wait to make new friends.  If you have a resident dog, please make sure we have a chance to say hello before adding me to your family. I still have a lot to learn so I'm hoping for a family that is prepared to continue my training and give me lots of exercise! I'm a good boy who already know sit, down and shake (both front paws). I get a little bit stressed when I'm left alone so I would do best with a family that understands I need a little extra attention. For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Kurlys! ID# A940881 My foster family thinks that I am the bees knees! Here's what they had to say: 'Kurlys is doing great! He's a bit scared of busy areas but he does great on walks around quiet neighborhoods. When he plays with other dogs, he's pretty gentle. He is learning to be alone at home and doing fine for up to an hour.'
