Story
Special little brownie is searching for her special person. Brownie came to PCHS completely terrified of people! She is still pretty scared of people and needs a lot of time to warm up. We are looking for a person who has a lot of time and patients for Brownie. She loves to be outside and she loves her toys.

Story
Viola is a beautiful soul that we think is about 3 year old  and a Beagle mix girl. This black and white beauty with adorable speckled legs and a sweet She only weighs 20 lbs and has the sweetest smile and absolutely loves people. She was found as a stray that was taken to the shelter very scared and almost shutdown while there. Her human mother died and Viola is now 5 years old. Unfortunately we don’t really know her story, but we feel there is some trauma there in her past. It takes her a little bit to get used to people and even longer for dogs. She wants a safe place to observe (wire crate suggested)  till she figures it out. Her foster kept her behind a gate and her bed was her safe place. For a few days she would growl through the gate at the other dogs but after that it was over. We would leave the gate open and she would venture out and if she got nervous she would go back to her safe place. She is never ugly to the other dogs at her foster and  if one of the Chihuahuas was mean to her,  she just ignored her. We have her using puppy pads because there is  no fenced yard. Viola would definetly need a fenced yard so she can safely explore and have potty breaks. The outdoors makes her nervous still. She loves her people immensely and adores  kids but older ones are best.  If you want to help and REALLY rescue a dog them Viola would be forever indebted to you.    If you are interested please email at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Shorty is one of our dogs who survived the shelter fire. He is about 3 years old and 40 pounds. His foster family says this about him: "Shorty is a Beagle mix with the chillest personality—he truly gives off laid-back “stoner vibes” and is happiest just hanging out with his people. He can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and once he does, he’s a total cuddle bug. He would love nothing more than to curl up on the couch with you and snuggle up next to you at night. He also has the softest fur, and if you’re lucky, he’ll give you a tiny kiss. Shorty has a great balance of playful energy and relaxed, easygoing vibes. He enjoys playtime, especially fetch and tug, and tennis balls are his absolute favorite! (Though fair warning—he’s a bit of a shredder, so fuzzy toys and stuffies may not last long with him.) He is very dog-friendly and may even benefit from a calm, friendly dog in the home to help him come out of his shell. He would do best with a more submissive/not in your face personality dog so he can feel comfortable and relaxed. His compatibility with cats and children is unknown, but he tends to do his own thing and has a gentle demeanor. Shorty walks very nicely on a leash and enjoys getting outside for some fresh air and exploring. He is not overly vocal, but will let you know when someone is at the door. Because he is curious and a bit of an adventurer, he will need a home with a secure setup—he has been known to test fences and can be quick to slip out an open door if given the chance. A watchful owner and consistent routine will help keep him safe and set him up for success. Shorty is still working on crate training, potty training, and learning basic commands like “sit.” He is not highly food-motivated, but will benefit from patient, consistent training using positive reinforcement. Shorty would do best with an adopter who is patient, attentive, and excited to help him continue learning while enjoying lots of cuddle time. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who loves to lounge, play a little, and give lots of affection, Shorty could be the perfect fit for you." We do NOT ship our animals.
