Story
Ready to add a furry family member to start off 2025?! Look no further than this adorable and friendly fellow. Junior is around 2 years old and just under 40lbs. He is a low rider and our best guess is that he is a beagle mix of sorts.     Junior is a friendly, funny and confident fella. He loves people and other dogs. He is ready to join you on walks and adventures. He walks nicely on a leash but gets a little excited when he sees a dog. He wants to meet & play with them but is learning quickly to focus on his human instead because then treats are involved. He would love a dog friend to run and play.    Junior is a smart guy who is eager to please! He learned “sit” quickly and is very responsive to training and positive reinforcement. He LOVES time outdoors so a fully fenced in yard is a must for this boy’s forever home.    Junior would be a good match for a variety of families. If you are interested in Junior  please email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com!  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 1, 2025, 1:03 pm

Story
Snoopy! Lovely Snoopy is an approx 2 year old medium sized (32 lb) female mixed breed. We estimate she may be part beagle and catahoula leopard dog, along with a bunch of other surprises! Snoopy ended up in a shelter with the surrender reason of "escapes" but the longer story it appears that the kids in the home tasked with caring for her lost interest. We don't see how that is possible though, Snoopy is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Snoopy is good with other dogs, and has lived with cats and kids in her former home. She can initially be a little shy with new men, but we know food and time wins her over. Snoopy does well in a crate and appears housebroken, although she likely will have some accidents as she transitions to a new home and routine. Snoopy is up to date on vet care and is already spayed and vaccinated and will be microchipped prior to adoption. She is also heartworm tested (negative), up to date on preventatives and has had a negative fecal test. Interested? Please go to https://www.dogtownrescue.org/online-adoption-application to complete an online application. An approved application and appointment are required to meet any of our dogs. Story
Champ is about 2 years old and last weighed in at 27 lbs. He probably still needs to gain about 5 pounds. He is a beagle mix but he does have long legs.  Champ is a loving and affectionate guy who enjoys being close to his people—he’ll happily snuggle up against your neck for some extra love. He has a medium energy level, so he’s happy to play with toys and go for walks, but also loves to nap and relax. He’s a quick learner and has already learned to sit for his food, proudly giving you a look to show off his accomplishment. While Champ is mostly house-trained, he’s still working on asking to go outside when he needs to. He has gotten much better about this! Champ's Ideal Home: A household with another dog would be great, as Champ loves the company of other dogs (he does best with small dogs) Someone who can give him the attention and love he craves A person or family who’s okay with his occasional burst of energy but also enjoys quiet cuddle timeChamp is a happy, sweet boy who can’t wait to find his forever family.   If you would like to meet him, fill out an application on our website.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
Baylor is a 9 year old beagle/lab mix. She currently lives in a house with cats and children. She loves her humans but would do best in a home with older children and no other dogs. She loves to be outside. She is housebroken and knows commands sit, stay, come and “get it” for treats.

Story
The day after Christmas some Grinch dropped off these 5 beautiful babies at the Speedway gas station. They were only about 9-weeks old - barely able to be without their mamma, who was not with them. Two little girls and 3 little boys. ♥️ The wonderful people at the gas station took the box in from the cold and called around to find help. Of course, one of our fosters stepped right up! They have now been fully vetted. They have all their age appropriate vaccinations, have been spayed/neutered and microchipped and they are now ready to go to their forever homes! If you would like to add one of these babies, please respond by tapping the big black button marked " Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. These puppies are being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
