Story
Meet Max! He is a 1 yr old beagle/ Boston Terrier. Max was surrendered by no fault of his, but because the family was experiencing some financial issues. Max is still very much a puppy. He loves to play. He enjoys squeaky toys and stuffed animals. He plays chase with his human foster brother often. While Max behaves like a puppy, he also loves snuggle time. Whenever his foster mom sits down, Max jumps on her lap and goes to sleep. Max has 2 doggy siblings whom he adores. They play chase and are often found napping together on their giant pillows. Max lives with a cat. He does not chase or attack him, but Max will bark at him. It appears that Max is afraid of the cat. Max is working on potty training. He is about 80% there but still occasionally has an accident. Max is very food motivated. He is receiving dry food with an occasional, very enjoyable treat. Max is working on his manners. He does jump when he gets excited but is easily redirected. He knows how to sit on command and will do this to have his leash hooked and before he is given his food. He is crate trained and enjoys going inside at the end of the day when he gets tired. He is also crated when his foster family is not home. Though he usually sleeps in his crate at bedtime, he will sometimes sleep in his foster mom's bed, where he loves to go under the covers to get cozy. In short, Max is good with kids and other dogs. He's curious about cats, but doesn't harm them. He is almost potty trained but still has a few accidents. Max is up to date on his vaccines and is neutered.

Story
Hiya! I`m Sam. I`m a spunky little guy looking for a new home. I am a clever beagle mix that came to the shelter as a stray. I am looking for a home with dog savvy adults. I can be a bit sensitive about being handled and ask that any children be over 15 years old. I am also selective about my dog friends but may be able to get along with a new dog companion with a proper introduction. I haven`t been around cats before but am open to trying with a slow introduction. If you think you have room in your home for me in your home please come down to the shelter and lets meet.---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Meet Penny, a sweet and gentle senior Beagle with a heart full of love to give. Penny may be a little older, but she still has plenty of spirit and affection to share. Penny unfortunately does have an enlarged heart and a heart murmur, along with being in the early stages of kidney failure, for which she is on special food to manage her condition. Despite her medical challenges, Penny’s sweet nature shines through, and she is looking for a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by comfort and care. Penny has lived with other dogs before and she’s a calm and friendly girl. Penny is currently in a foster home, where she’s doing well and continuing to enjoy life. If you’re interested in meeting this sweet senior girl, please email adoption@berksarl.org to schedule a time to meet her. Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Bindi is approximately 1 to 1.5 years old. She gave birth to two puppies on December 4th, both of which have been adopted. In real life, Bindi is even more petite than she appears in her pictures. She would be the perfect-sized dog for a family with children of all ages.    Bindi is very quiet; she doesn't bark or chew, but she is known to climb fences. In fact, she often climbs the fence and then comes right back to the front door to be with her family. Bindi is very social with both people and other dogs, and her tail is constantly wagging! She is a total lovebug and is sure to make someone a wonderful companion. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Thank you for your interest in rescue.  If you would like to be considered for  adoption please submit an application to adopt.  If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please email: rescuedp2024@icloud.com   or ddlu219@yahoo.com  for dog/puppies.   APPLICATIONS TO ADOPT : DOG   SMALL ANIMALS   BIRD REPTILE   FERRET February 18, 2025, 4:39 pm

Story
Reason for rehoming: Our living circumstances have changed dramatically and we believe that our dogs would be happier in a different environment than what they have now. Ideally, we would love to see our dogs adopted into a home that has a nice backyard to run and sniff around in. Where did you originally get the dog from? Dorchester Paws Animal Shelter Breed: Hound mix. Best guess: Beagle+tree-walker/coon hound Age: 9/10 (Best guess based on teeth) Behavioral  issues? Knows and follows many commands, but can be stubborn about doing them immediately. Medical issues? No Good traits? Great at walking off leash and staying close. Never barks unless told the “speak” command with a treat or when playing with another dog as a “you went too far” warning. Any training? Just the basics. Sit, stay, down, bed, spin, release, speak, come, out, eat, leave it. Never allowed on furniture or to jump up on visitors.

Story
Meet Colby Jack! Breed: Beagle/Dachshund Mix Estimated Age: 12/18/2018 Sex: Male - Neutered Weight: 18 lbs Currently up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations Things to Know: Rescued from Mississippi Came from a tough situation at a shelter, arriving emaciated and with a respiratory infection—but thanks to great care, he's now healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever home! CJ is a people dog! Loves being right by his foster family's side and snuggling Shy about hands coming toward him, prefers to come to you when comfortable, loves belly rubs. Loves soft materials like blankets or towels. Occasional zoomies but can settle down or go to his crate for quiet time. Enjoys lick mats and chew bones Can be very fixated on food and liquids - likely from his past living in a group shelter Enjoys outdoor walks, explores the world with his nose to the ground and doesn’t mind the weather. Happy, and full of personality—he's got a hilarious, opinionated streak that will keep you smiling Loves louging on the couch  Working on crate training. May need to be lured in with a treat but settles well. CJ would be great for an apartment or small home. Currently housetraining—will need continued, consistent habits to establish a solid routine Dog-friendly  Has met several dogs on walks and does a nice nose greeting. Not interested in play yet Cat friendly - sniffed and walked away Looking for a loving and committed forever home to provide him with the care and love he deserves Learn more and apply to adopt at TLCrescuePA.com/adopt Interested in fostering?
