When you eat your Thanksgiving turkey- will you think of me?? I will be right next to you trying to get it... NOW will you think of me?? LOL, ok, I kid.... I do love turkey though :) I am Wishbone, and I am a bull terrier/beagle mixed boy with a story to tell! I am so smart like a bull terrier- somewhat stubborn, like a bull terrier, but I follow my NOSE like a beagle! I am super cute, only about 40# and I am pretty active. I love to have a hard playing buddy, no small animals (like kitties) as I have a prey drive- like a bull terrier.. you see where I am going with this, right?? I would love have an active family, kids older than grade school as I love a moving target and smaller ones don't quite understand that. I am a love bug, and once tired out I am the bestest cuddler! So, what are you waiting for? Look me up, take me on adventures when you apply to adopt me! ADOPT, DON'T SHOP!!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Gracie is an awesome Beagle mix. She weighs about 30lbs but needs to lose a few pounds. Gracie is young, sweet, playful and a quick learner. No cats for Gracie! She wouldn't harm them but she loves to chase them. She is good with other dogs, but she is more dominant and will do best with other dogs who are more submissive or mellow. Gracie would thrive in a situation with someone who works from home because she doesn't like to be alone, unless she has other dogs to be with. Gracie needs a fully fenced yard and ideally an active person who can take her on hikes or runs. She loves to play and do zoomies! To apply for Gracie, please email us at stmartinsanimalrescue@hotmail.com.

We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Meet Otter! Otter is such a funny guy. He lets you pick him up and play with him, but he really wants to be held like a baby! The cutest thing about Otter is probably that he has the wiggliest tail in the universe! You just have to see it in action. We 100% promise it will make you crack a smile even on a bad day. He is kid friendly, letting a 4 year old walk him around on a leash— talk about an easy going guy! Otter is ready to meet his people! Watch Mr. Beagle boy in action here: https://youtu.be/d_5qLtGTS8o?si=LFHMprmgtU3dsQgP Otter is a very low energy guy, as most beagles are. We can see him being a certified couch potato, following you around the house with those cute puppy dog eyes saying “watcha doin?” Otter loves everyone he meets, and he is not bothered by new people coming and going. Otter really came out of his shell with other doggies around, so he could be a wonderful addition to your pack, or a plus one to a single dog home. As long as your dog or dogs are low to medium energy as well. We can see Otter as a family dog, living his best life playing in a yard with kiddos! He did wonderful when a 4 year old was running around the yard, yelling at things, falling, and being a normal kid. Otter was so sweet to check on him when he fell. We don’t recommend an apartment for this little guy. Well, we say this because if you know beagles, you know how they like to sing for you! As much as we love singing, a home to sing his heart out would be best for Otter. No kitty friends for Otter either! Meet Frankie – Your Gentle, Loving Companion Frankie is a sweet and gentle Beagle and MinPin mix (maybe?!) with a heart full of love. Estimated at 5 years old and weighing 20 lbs, this affectionate boy is the perfect companion for a singleton looking for a loyal friend who enjoys both play and relaxation. He loves a good game of fetch but is just as happy curling up beside you, resting his head in your lap for a cozy snuggle. Frankie is great on a leash, making him a wonderful walking partner for leisurely strolls, but he’s also content soaking up the sun in his own yard. His kind and gentle nature shines through in everything he does, from the way he greets new friends to the soft, careful way he takes treats. Frankie gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, and shares his toys well. He would do best in a home without cats, as he may chase them. With kids, he would do best with older kids who can be more calm and predictable, and respect his space. Shy at first, he will warm up to you quickly. If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing companion who will bring warmth and joy to your life, Frankie is the perfect match! Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose Nothin', don't mean nothin' hon' if it ain't free, no no And, feelin' good was easy, Lord, when he sang the blues You know, feelin' good was good enough for me Good enough for me and I'm Bobbi Lou. That's the jam folks except freedom in the streets means an empty tummy and that wasn't my jam. MMMM Jam. I like Jam or I bet I would. I like food and it sounds yummy in my tummy. Foster mom keeps the kibble bowl full so I never have hungry belly anymore. I am a Basset/Beagle mix and 7 years old. I'm 28 pounds and probably won't get bigger give or take a few pounds now that I get food everyday. I've been learning so much in my foster home. I do my potty business outside 99% of the time. I seem to like smaller dogs and am unsure about the bigger dogs that live here. Cats also live here and I'm a little growlie when they get in my space but if they leave me alone I'll do the same. They taught me how to go into my crate and that's where I sleep. I would much prefer to stay with my human and I don't take up a bunch of space. I stay in the lap area so you can get maximum pets. Come get me please so I can measure the lap space and make sure I fit. (don't worry I'll fit) Local adoption fee $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
