Allow us to introduce you to COOKIE, a 3 year old mixed breed who came to our pound after being found on a local highway. COOKIE is the sweetest girl. Between her wonderful personality and her short legs, we think there may be some Beagle in the mix. COOKIE is quite the little lover. She is affectionate and the more love you give her, the more affectionate she becomes. Her biggest motivators are love and snacks (another reason we think there is a Beagle in there). When she has to go out, she whines. She's met a few kids and has been good with them. She doesn't seem to mind the other dogs at the pound. We don't know about cats. COOKIE has best friend potential because she's happy to do whatever you do. Want to go for a long walk? COOKIE is your girl. Want to nap all afternoon on the couch? COOKIE is your girl. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Hours: Monday-Friday 10am-4pm; Saturdays 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays. Rudy is sweet beagle mix who is about 4 years old and weighs approximately 25 lbs. He gets along and plays great with the other foster dog in his foster home, but he does not always like to share and makes it clear. For that reason, he may do best as the only dog or with a dog savvy family if there is already another dog in the home Rudy loves to zip around the back yard at full speed when he plays! He also has a high prey drive and would love to chase every squirrel, rabbit or any other critter he comes across. There is a good chance he could catch them too. A secured fenced in yard is a must for this speed demon! When Rudy isn’t on the hunt, he is a complete cuddle bug and even likes to sit right on your lap. He is crate trained, walks like a total gentleman on a leash and likes going on walks and taking long naps. Cats…he would say yes please, but for all the wrong reasons! If you love your cat, Rudy is not the dog for you. Jolene is a lovable, smart family dog. She is fantastic with children, was born into a family of youngins, toddler through teens, 5 of them. She is clever, and loves to explore and run free. Our other dogs are trained off leash, she will come back, when she feels. We make sure to be mindful when receiving packages or guests, for Jolene is keen on opportunities to be free. She would be happy in a home with children and other pets, though she does like her one on one attention. She has a good nose, and a desire to please.

Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well.
