Story
January 2024: Estee is a sweet loving dog who loves to be petted. Because of her background she needs a quiet home with secure fencing. She would make a excellent pet for older person or couple. She is now around 4 years old and 20 lbs. Soft ears and soft eyes! She still has some accidents in her crate if left over 6 hours. She will use pads and goes outside easily. She prefers a few zoomies in the yard and then a nice dog bed. Does great with the other dogs, cats unknown. Not a mean bone in her body. February 2023: She is doing great, will make a fine family member for a quiet home with a physical fenced in yard. She is still a flight risk so no small children with the house doors. She must have a secure fence. May 2022: Estee was pulled from Bracken County. She was found as a stray and was likely an unsocialized puppy living away from people. For the first two months she was terrified to come in from outside (carried for 2 months) and a month after that to go out on her own. She is still a little leery of doorways. Estee is 2 years old and 20 lbs. She is the sweetest pup, who is doing great going outside for potty. she does us her crate and will, potty in it sometimes. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. Application: https://form.jotform.com/FredsMission/app

Story
Pitaya's Story Pitaya was rescued from a hoarding situation in Southern Kentucky in August. The property had over 40 dogs, and Pitaya was one of them. She arrived in our care infested with fleas and ticks, dirty, and nursing a litter of 8 newborn puppies. Since then, Pitaya has been treated for fleas and ticks, tested for diseases, and has weaned her puppies. We've learned a lot about her, but her past has left its mark. Pitaya is a nervous dog who requires a patient and understanding home. Important Requirements No Children: Pitaya cannot be placed in a home with kids, visiting or resident. Privacy Fence: A 6ft privacy fence is mandatory. No exceptions. Female-Only Household: Men make Pitaya nervous, and she may fear-bite. Existing Dog: Pitaya prefers a home with another dog for companionship. Cats: Pitaya gets along with cats but needs to be separated when left alone. Limited Socialization: Pitaya won't be a dog for public outings or crowds. Despite these challenges, we know Pitaya will thrive with the right owner. If you think you can provide the patient, gentle home Pitaya needs, please fill out an adoption application. Her foster mom will be in touch to discuss further.

Story
Meet Copper! Copper is a 3-month-old, 7-pound lab/beagle mix. Copper's absolutely adorable little face with a white dot on his nose is just the beginning of the list of reasons you will fall in love with him. He is full of puppy energy and absolutely loves the humans he's with. Copper loves to be held in your arms and will plant as many kisses on your cheek as you want! He is one of the "Rock"-in twins with his brother Obsidian (Obbie). Copper and Obbie love to rough-house together but, when it's nap time, they snuggle up close in their crate and keep each other company. Copper is inquisitive of other animals, including cats and other dogs, and has shown nothing but his innate sweetness to them. He loves to play with his toys and has been quickly learning to use his puppy pads. If you are looking for a loving little buddy that won't get too big and will get along with other animals, then Copper is the one for you! Copper is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Spice! Spice is a 3-month-old, 9-pound lab/beagle mix. He is full of playful puppy energy and loves being around his people. He loves his toys and especially enjoys playing tug-o-war with the family dog. He gets along great with other dogs and lives with four cats but it is recommended that the cat is dog-savvy and not afraid to stand up for themselves since Spice gets excited to see them. While Spice has lots of energy, he also appreciates snuggle time. When he gets worn out from a play session, he loves to cuddle up in your lap and sleep like a baby. Spice is a smart little guy and will need to learn basic dog skills like house training and walking on a leash. He is eager to please. If Spice sounds like the perfect little puppy for you, apply today! Spice is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00.
