Meet Cheddar! Cheddar is a handsome 6 year old, 25 pound Beagle. Cheddar's superpower is his friendliness. He loves people and would be delighted if you would come meet him and give him some pets. His tail is always wagging. He has a healthy hound appetite for treats so could be motivated by those. (Cheese is good motivator for him as well!) Cheddar absolutely loves walks. A perfect day for him would include at least one but preferably two of those. He can walk long distances but a stroll around the block would do just fine as well. He walks well on a leash but is also known to get distracted by squirrels. When it comes to housetraining, Cheddar is doing very well. He has had a few accidents in his foster home but a consistent schedule will lead him to success. Cheddar enjoys being around kids but is still learning to keep all four paws on the floor. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times.
