Story
Meet Cheddar! Cheddar is a handsome 6 year old, 25 pound Beagle. Cheddar's superpower is his friendliness. He loves people and would be delighted if you would come meet him and give him some pets. His tail is always wagging. He has a healthy hound appetite for treats so could be motivated by those. (Cheese is good motivator for him as well!) Cheddar absolutely loves walks. A perfect day for him would include at least one but preferably two of those. He can walk long distances but a stroll around the block would do just fine as well. He walks well on a leash but is also known to get distracted by squirrels. When it comes to housetraining, Cheddar is doing very well. He has had a few accidents in his foster home but a consistent schedule will lead him to success. Cheddar enjoys being around kids but is still learning to keep all four paws on the floor. If you're looking for a playful, lovable goofball, then come meet Cheddar! Cheddar is currently being fostered in Cincinnati, OH, and his adoption fee is $275. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Lucy is a 6-year-old, 46-pound beagle/bluetick coonhound mix who is the sweetest pup you will ever meet and is so eager to please and make you feel loved! Her superpowers include being potty trained, leash trained, getting along great with other dogs and all people and loving to cuddle. She knows “sit” and “crate” but would prefer to have someone home with her most of the time so that she can provide all the love! Her barking is minimal except for when she’s super excited (usually when her humans come home) or sometimes when left alone. Her favorite things are car rides, treats, cuddles, tug-of-war and long walks. We believe Lucy had great training from her past owners and is looking for her forever home where her skills can shine! If you’re looking for the sweetest girl ever who is so well-behaved, Lucy is your perfect match! Lucy is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Brie! This sweet, 6 year old, 22 pound Beagle girl is ready to start the rest of her life with a family of her own! Brie was used as a breeding dog for many years of her life. Now that she's in rescue and getting used to life in a home, she is so happy to be here! Brie is fostered with other dogs, cats and with small kids (ages 5 and 10) and has done well with all! True to her beagle breed, Brie has a loud bark and would likely not be the best apartment companion - but she would thrive in a home with a yard and plenty of room to explore! Brie does very well in a crate and has only had a few bathroom accidents in her foster home while getting used to a new routine. She is working on her leash manners, but is still a little uncertain of new, scary noises and can sometimes "pancake" on walks when she gets scared. however, she is already showing a lot of improvement with this! Brie is ready to start a new life in her forever home! If Brie sounds like a good fit for your family - apply today! Her adoption fee is $275. Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
