Story
We rescued Desi around 5 years ago and we thought she was an elderly dog. As it turns out she had been neglected and likely abused. After a few months she blossomed and turned into a happy puppy. We found out at the time she was likely around 2 years old when we adopted her. She's a great dog, crate trained and listens well. She sits, shakes, and her primary goal is just to be a "good dog". Unfortunately, my wife and I have changed careers and both have a very busy schedule while both working full time. So, we are concerned she is not getting the attention and interactions she deserves. She really is a dog that loves being around people and she deserves a home that can give her that!

Children have been a stressor for me in the past, so a home without children would be best for me. I am house trained and crate trained too. My favorite treats are freeze dried tripe from that Hollywood Feed Store and I have a Moose stuffed toy I enjoy. In my daily life, I like to lounge on the couch, explore the yard and take walks. I can be an escape artist, so supervised playtime in the yard is a good idea. My foster mom says I am pretty quiet for a beagle. I am gentle and polite with all my doggy friends and I really love to cuddle with my humans. I cannot wait to find a family all my own who will provide me all the love and attention I deserve! Her trainer at the DASH Prison Training program say "She is a great dog for any family.  Laura is a friendly girl with both humans and dogs of all sizes. She is very playful, yet she can be very calm. She likes to cuddle, yet she likes her kennel. She does great on a leash but stay right with you when she's not on the leash".  She is not a barker. Lorna has not shown any sensitivity to sound or touch. She only gets on furniture when invited. She is gentle and shares her toys and food. She is housebroken, tolerates bathing, loves her toys and has a ton of affection to give. Her social personality allows her to tolerate crowds. She has not been tested with children or cats so a proper introduction is in order. That's quite impressive considering he is so young.  At such a young age, this beagle mix has learned to let his person know when he needs to go potty. He loves to play with K9 friends, shares his toys and does not get grumpy about sharing his food.  He doesn't mind a good rub-a-dub-dub in the tub as long as it means he gets to cuddle on the couch with you. Butter is a good mix of affectionate and energetic. He does well in crowds and hasn't met a stranger he didn't like.  Butter is in the DASH Training Program and is learning basic commands but is picking them up really quickly.  However, he has been known to have a "puppy" attention span at times.  He can be vocal in the crate and is still working on leash training. He is social and has proven to do well in crowds.
