Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

This sweet baby had a rough start, but he is quickly realizing how much he is loved now! He is DASH's prison training program where he is learning basic commands. It can take Oliver a little while to warm up, but once he does he is so loving and affectionate. We are confident that with the right person and our training program, he will gain confidence and a trust for people. His handler says that he loves to run and play with other dogs and would do great with a yard. He has not been tested with cats or kids. Her trainer at the DASH Prison Training program say "She is a great dog for any family. Laura is a friendly girl with both humans and dogs of all sizes. She is very playful, yet she can be very calm. She likes to cuddle, yet she likes her kennel. She does great on a leash but stay right with you when she's not on the leash". She is not a barker. Lorna has not shown any sensitivity to sound or touch. She only gets on furniture when invited. She is gentle and shares her toys and food. She is housebroken, tolerates bathing, loves her toys and has a ton of affection to give. Her social personality allows her to tolerate crowds. She has not been tested with children or cats so a proper introduction is in order. She is quickly learning basic commands and is more than ready for her furever home! That's quite impressive considering he is so young. At such a young age, this beagle mix has learned to let his person know when he needs to go potty. He loves to play with K9 friends, shares his toys and does not get grumpy about sharing his food. He doesn't mind a good rub-a-dub-dub in the tub as long as it means he gets to cuddle on the couch with you. Butter is a good mix of affectionate and energetic. He does well in crowds and hasn't met a stranger he didn't like. Butter is in the DASH Training Program and is learning basic commands but is picking them up really quickly. However, he has been known to have a "puppy" attention span at times. He can be vocal in the crate and is still working on leash training. He is social and has proven to do well in crowds. His trainer says, "Butter likes to play fetch, gets excited when playing, is a very friendly pup and does really well with small dogs. He has a gentle nature to his little personality". He has not been tested with children or cats so a proper introduction is in order. Born in the shelter shortly after their extremely pregnant mother was rescued. They are wonderful group of pups. They were a pleasure to watch as they grew older. The pups love to play in water and could spend their day in a pool. The pups are very sweet and would make wonderful additions to any family. They don't mind cats *been around since the day they were born) and they would do great with other dogs. They are short and stocky but adorable as can be.
