Story
This 2-year-old Beagle is the sweetest and spunkiest of dogs! Weighing in at 22 pounds, he’s the perfect size for cuddles—and cuddling just happens to be one of his favorite activities. While his past has made him more anxious and sometimes overstimulated, he shows his bravery and resilience in new ways every day. In no time, Ringo will happily follow you around the house, and be your favorite snuggle buddy at night, making every night cozy and warm. With some patience and guidance, he’s made remarkable progress and become a great roommate! While he’s house-trained on a consistent schedule, his pacing around the room will be your cue to go outside. If you're home, he may go into his kennel for a safe space, or when you say “take a nap” (especially if there’s a treat involved)! When he's alone, he can be very vocal and unsettled in the kennel. Due to his noise level during these times, he will not be a fit for homes with shared walls (apartments/condos).This little explorer thrives with structure and enjoys mental and physical stimulation. Ringo loves to go on walks (30-45 minutes) where he can sniff to his heart's content, along with food puzzles to entertain his Beagle nose. Ringo is eager to learn with you, too! He’s working on commands like “sit” and “touch,” treating every session like the most fun game ever. When it comes to his favorite things, Ringo’s love for squeaky toys knows no bounds—his hedgehog stuffy is a prized possession. He’s also an expert in the fine art of destroying stuffed toys but enjoys chew toys, kongs, and even a good antler. Ringo’s playful spirit is matched only by his need for cuddles. He’ll give you endless kisses, follow you everywhere, and look at you with those soulful Beagle eyes that make it impossible to say no.Ringo is happy to make friends, but it takes a little extra bravery to do so. He has met children as young as 6 years-old and adored them, though he is still learning personal space. Because of this, dog-savvy kids aged 8+ would be the best match. He has briefly met his foster family's cat, but quickly retreated. With the right introduction, he could likely coexist peacefully with a confident, relaxed cat. Around other dogs, Ringo does best with calm or well-balanced companions, as big personalities can make him nervous. He finds comfort in the presence of another dog and could benefit from a home where his human or canine companions are often around. Ringo would thrive in a patient, loving home that understands his puppy-like curiosity and gives him the structure he needs to blossom. In return, you'll receive a lifetime of laughter and endless kisses! Could you be the one to give this brave, spunky, and snuggly pup his forever home?If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Jack, a playful and affectionate Beagle with a heart as big as his love for treats! This handsome guy sports a classic Beagle coat of white with brown and black patches, weighing in at 24 pounds—a perfect small companion. Jack is all about the snuggles, often curling up on his favorite blanket when he’s ready for a nap, and you might catch him perched on the arm of the couch like Snoopy, surveying his kingdom with curiosity.Jack has made great strides since coming into rescue and he’s working hard to master the art of being a good boy. He’s working on becoming more comfortable in the crate and will go in it to relax without being prompted. He’s gained more confidence in his foster home and is showing off his playful side by jumping for treats and zooming around the yard! A fenced yard is ideal for Jack so he can play safely.Jack is still nervous to meet other dogs and will opt to hide behind his people rather than play. He’s yet to meet a cat, but would likely need a slow introduction before feeling comfortable around them. He’s done well with older kids and will gladly accept snuggles from all people! Due to the nature of Jack’s breed, he’s been known to be vocal when home alone. For this reason, he should go to a home that does not have shared walls. If you’re interested in learning more about Jack and think he might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxHenlo hoomans! I am Austin! I am a good beagle but I still have a few issues I’m working through with my foster pawpa and his fur fren. I came from da streets and so am still a timid boy and am slow to trust, but I want to it just takes time. I woof being outside and running around wif my fluffy fren and getting da zoomies out, but getting back in da house can sometimes be tricky as da outside is awesome! I woof all da treatos, but I especially woof da cheesy curds from Culver’s. I enjoy walkies, but I like to have the time to get the sniffs in so they sometimes take a while.    Some of my issues, besides being timid, are I can be a little vocal, but no more than you’d expect from a regal beagle like myself and I am having some issue with understanding that potty is to be always done outside, but da foster hooman and I are working on this. I’m also a bit of a chewer, so make sure I have chews to help wif my nervous chewing so I don’t go after your socks, or toys, or cables, or anything else I can get my teefs on I’m not supposed to have.     Won’t you give me a good, trusting home so I can show da world what an awesome boy I can be?Austin will require another confidant dog in his adoptive home If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Story
Meet Fleagle, a 5-month-old Beagle!! How cute is this little guy?! He is such a sweet guy who loves to snuggle. He does have a little separation anxiety and prefers to be with you at all times. He’s doing really well with his house training. He did have a setback in crate training, so he has been working on that. He does fuss in his crate if he knows your home, but is quiet when you’re not home. He is a beagle and very vocal and loves to chew on things he isn’t supposed to. He does have a lot of energy and loves walks and to play in the yard with the other dogs. He loves dogs, cats, and kids. It would be best for him to have another dog in the house because he tends to lean on them for comfort. He did have some teeth issues when he came into rescue that resulted in him having 6 top teeth removed. That doesn't slow him down at all and eats just fine. He is such a wonderful puppy!! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $750.00    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 14, 2024, 3:53 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Mason and I am a beagle mix born 1/20/23. I have been in rescue since Halloween 2022 and I am so ready to find a home I can call my own now that Halloween 2024 is coming! Right now I live with my foster mom, my friend, the resident dog and a cat. I love my foster mom but my favorite person is a 12 yr old boy, whose name is Mason also. He comes to visit a lot and I give him all the love! I think I’d like to have kids live with me in my new home, we could run and play together. I do jump when excited so little ones might be a bit overwhelmed by me. Speaking of jumping, I am an amazing jumper. My foster mom thinks I could be trained for agility contests, cause I run fast, like to jump and she says I’m wiry. I’m not much of a ball chaser, but I will fetch a stick once in a while. My favorite outdoor activity is running and wrestling with my furry friend.  We also go on lots of walks, although I am not a leash fan, it hinders my exploring and smelling instincts. I will learn to accept it if that’s what you want me to do. I really do not like to be in a kennel, in fact I will find a way out one way or another. My foster mom lets me roam while she’s away and I’ve never chewed anything I’m not supposed to. I’m fully potty trained. I love food and treats, so much so that I’ve been known to counter surf if there is food where I can reach. I’m getting better about not doing it though. I love to go on car rides, but my tummy doesn’t. I have to take some pills before we go and then I’m good. I am very timid when I first meet someone and I will bark at you, but if you just give me a few minutes I’ll start warming up. I like to think I’m a fun little guy to have around and I’ve made my foster mom laugh lots at my goofy antics. Why don’t we meet and see if maybe we might have a love connection and you’ll want to take me home with you!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
