Story
Hi hoomans, My name is Debry and I’m a whole lot of cute, cuddly and spunky in a pint size package! I absolutely love playing with my toys and my resident 4 legged brothers. I think I’d do really well in a family with another dog because I love playing with friends! I’m the perfect balance of play hard and then sleep and cuddle up with my hoomans. I’m working on potty training but still pretty young, I'm getting the hang of it. I can’t wait to meet my furever family, I hope it’s you!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxMeet Daisy (aka Electra)! This sweet pup is settling in wonderfully and showing lots of promise as she grows and learns. House Training: Daisy is doing really well with her house training! As expected for her age, she’s had a few accidents, but she’s catching on quickly—especially when given regular trips outside. She’s also done great overnight and hasn’t needed any potty breaks. Kennel Training: Daisy isn't a huge fan of missing out on the fun, so she sometimes whines or cries a bit when kenneled while people are home. Usually, she settles down after a short time. At night, she’s been doing great—quiet her first night, with just a few minutes of whining on the next couple nights before sleeping peacefully. Social Skills (Dogs/Cats): She’s been friendly with other dogs! She keeps trying to play with our beagle, who isn’t too into it, but Daisy keeps trying with her sweet persistence. She’s also been polite when meeting other dogs on walks or out at the pet store. We haven’t seen her around cats, so we’re not sure how she’d do with them. Good with Kids: Yes! Daisy has been wonderful with our 2- and 4-year-olds. She loves being around them, playing and getting pets. Sometimes she gets excited and jumps up to give face kisses (especially to the littlest one), which can be surprising—but she's very affectionate and gentle overall. Likes, Dislikes & Quirks: Daisy loves chewing on bones and playing, and she’s been getting better with stairs every day! She didn’t love her bath, but she tolerated it, and she was surprisingly calm about having her ears cleaned. She finds her own reflection very suspicious and will bark at mirrors and glass doors—it's pretty funny! One of our favorite things is her adorable cat-like stretch when she wakes up. Learning the Basics: She’s doing great on a leash and has been on several walks with her harness. She’s still learning, but doing well so far. Vocal Tendencies: Daisy can be a little vocal—she whines or barks occasionally—but it’s nothing out of the ordinary for a playful, curious puppy. With a little continued training and attention, she’d likely do fine in a shared-wall home like an apartment or townhouse. Daisy is an affectionate, curious, and playful pup who’s eager to learn and be part of a family. She's going to make someone a very lucky companion!    * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Jelly —the sweetest little lap dog in training! This 10-week-old Beagle/Hound mix is crate trained, great in the car, and adores toys. She’s a playful, intelligent pup who’s friendly with people, dogs, and even cats! Jelly’s favorite place? Your lap. She’ll even ask to be picked up! She’s calm, cuddly, and quiet—except at mealtime (because food is life!). Her one silly quirk? She’s a little escape artist who loves climbing over gates… but once she’s up, she has no idea how to get down! Jelly is still a puppy, eager to learn and love her way into your heart. Could you be her new home? Jelly  is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 4/5 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9AM and 12PM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 31, 2025, 12:37 pm

Story
Spencer is Mr. Personality! He's got brilliant coloring and is the most social, outgoing, charming boy you'll ever meet. He loves playing with his siblings and the other dogs in the house, and he also tries to stake out the best spot in foster mom's lap when he's decided he's done. He loves exploring outside and will be an amazing hiking and adventure partner. His mom is about 35lbs and is so social, outgoing, SMART, and human-focused. If he's anything like his mom, Spencer will grow up to be a truly amazing, charismatic companion, with the best floppy hound ears! Spencer is estimated to be 8 weeks old and 8 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Saturday, April 5, 12:00-2:00pm, Forgotten Star Brewing, 38 Northern Stacks Drive, Fridley, MN 55421 https://www.facebook.com/events/8979622755478302 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. Please check our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ for confirmed attendance the morning of the event.
