Story
Let me introduce myself! My name is Mason and I am an almost 2 yr old male Beagle mix. I am pretty amazing if I do say so myself! I came to Minnesota from Kentucky and found myself a nice warm foster home to live in with a dog friend, a cat who doesn’t want to be my friend, and a foster mom. I love playing with my dog friend, especially out in the yard. We wrestle and do zoomies together.  I am a very fast runner and I need to work off my energy with my zoomies. I need some serious leash training, but once I learn to be on a leash nicely, I would be a good running partner. I love to explore and my nose sometimes gets me in trouble with all the good smells, so my foster mom thinks I should have a fence in my new home. I am fully house-trained. While in the house I’m a pretty chill boy. I find a comfy spot and either take naps or lay and watch what’s going on in the house. Sometimes I even watch TV. There is one thing I dislike more than anything and that is a kennel! I get very high anxiety when I go in one and I have been known to tear apart a kennel when made to be in one. I am allowed to have free reign when when my foster mom goes away and I have never hurt anything in the house. I sleep in the bed with my foster mom and she says I am a great bed partner. If she asks me to move, I do and I don’t get off the bed until it’s time to get up. I get very excited when I see kids and can’t contain my excitement so I might not be the best companion for small kids as I might knock them down with my enthusiasm. I do like activity though so older kids would be great! As I said before there is a cat here and I really want to be friends, but she doesn’t. I would never try to hurt her, I just want to play. If she runs I chase, I figure that’s her wanting to play. I am very curious about what she is and I’ll keep trying to be friends with her, even when my foster mom tells me to leave the cat alone a few times a day. I try to be a really good boy all the time, but as we all know even the best of us have some quirks. Here are mine: I do like to do a little counter-surfing if there are good things within my reach. I’m slowly learning to stay down though. I am highly food and treat motivated so any food within my reach is not safe. I love to go on adventures in the car but I get car sick. I take some pills now before a car ride and they make my tummy feel so much better. When I went to the vet they said I have some dental issues so I will need to have yearly dental checkups. Because of these issues, I cannot chew on anything hard. I really am a sweet boy but I am very timid! I do not do well meeting new people. I try to hide and not even treats will bring me out of my shell. Once I get to know you we can be best friends though. It may take several meets for you to see my true, loving personality. My foster mom just had to be patient at first and it didn’t take long for me to trust her. I will be the same with you, be patient and gentle, and I’ll come around and soon be giving you lots of kisses. He is very smart and crate trained, he is working on learning to use a signal when he needs to go outside and go pottyHe is a bit scared when he meets new people and is slow to warm up to them.  But once he does he is so snuggly and playful! He really is a happy guy. Sometimes he does not like to share what he values. We’ve been working on that. ( He does coome with a trainer )His best life will be with a quiet household with another dog in the home. He’s good with older respectful kids and other dogs. Cats are unknown. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Rambler (6yo, 50lb) is a presumed Beagle/Lab/Terrier mix and needs a home with another dog around his size & age to show him that being a dog IS pretty cool! Rambler came to us from a background of hardship. We aren't sure about his whole story, but came to rescue as a meek and skinny boy and was missing half of his ear. He also came to rescue with heartworm. He was successfully treated and has been diligently kept on Heartguard (Tri Heart Plus) ever since.  He has made HUGE progress since being in rescue. This guy deserves to find his forever home. He is working on trusting humans, new dogs, and being away from his foster mom. We think Rambler would do best in a laid-back home with a solid 6ft fence, a confident dog, and a human who is patient and ready for him to break out of his shell. He is crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash, and tries to be very brave when he meets new dogs. "Treats!" is one of his favorite words! Rambler is a true diamond in the rough. Lulu was rescued from a shelter in Tennessee, the day she was to be euthanized - shelter workers said they knew her original owner and that they mistreated her. Lulu is approx 8 years old and around 30 lbs. She’s very friendly, good with other dogs, good with cats. She’s affectionate, sweet, and friendly. We would recommend older children (or no children) for her because she can get touchy about her face being messed with- she can snap in fear if she doesn’t like how her face/neck/upper body is approached, or it's too quick for her. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Benny (11mo/ 30lb) is a charming and charismatic young lad. Benny is currently being fostered with young kids, cats, a senior small dog, and a large breed puppy. Benny is the perfect blend of curiosity, playfulness, and affection! His Beagle side gives him an inquisitive nature, and his Basset side adds a relaxed and cuddly temperament. We aren’t 100% sure of Benny’s story, but he was fostered in a home with other dogs before coming to MN. Benny is still trying to learn his role in his pack, so if there are other dogs in the home, we do recommend feeding separately. He does have a little attitude when it comes to other dogs trying to take his chews or food, but once he learns that he can trust everyone - he settles down. Benny is still working on potty training, and does well on a schedule and with treats! His foster mom works from home and is trying to help him learn to jingle a bell to go potty. (Smart AND Handsome!) He is still working on crate training, but once he is comfortable, enjoying a chew, and everything is quiet, he settles in for a nap. Benny would thrive in an active home where he can enjoy daily walks, training sessions, plenty of playtime, and cuddle sessions on the couch. A fenced yard is preferred for Benny so he can stay active, but would also be good in a home with a lot of activity and adventures. He’s also very social and would be a great fit for a family with other pets or kids who can match his energy and enthusiasm. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who’s always up for an adventure or a snuggle, Benny might just be the perfect addition to your family   Interested in adopting? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Hi! My name is Poppy and  I'm about 4 years old and around 23 lbs. I’m looking for a family with a fenced yard. We beagles live by the nose and I’d feel safer if I couldn’t wander off! I was heartworm-positive when I arrived in rescue, but I have been treated and am ready to find my forever family.   My foster family has lots of toys that I love. I like to toss squeaker toys in the air with my paws and see if I can catch them. I really enjoy going on walks too -  I don’t bark at other dogs or people. I have the usual cautiousness and energy of beagles, so I would do best with similar-sized and aged dogs (especially if they like to play!) I could be an only dog if I get lots of attention! I can sit on command and I like to sleep by my people. My fosters think I took a course in feng shui, because I like to move my bed around to find JUST the right spot! I also have a crate that I go into, if I want some alone time. I know my name and I’m getting better at coming when I’m called; my nose tends to distract me sometimes though. Even though it's getting colder outside, I don't mind and I still happily go outside and do my business... always leaving time for ZOOMIES after! See the cute video of Poppy:  She loves this football. She gets the ball at 60 yard line, drives hard for the 40 yard line and fumbles-she’s back up and in for the touchdown!   Interested in fostering and/or adopting?
