You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Rambler is a Beagle/Lab/Terrier mix (we are guessing!) Who is oh so sweet and good natured. Rambler came to us from a background of hardship. We don't know the full story but was told part of one of his ears was shot off? Was he a stray in a rural area and was shot at? We are not sure, but he came to rescue pretty meek and frightened of humans. He also came to rescue with heartworm. He was successfully treated for that and has been diligently kept on Heartguard (Tri Heart Plus) since then. He also has made HUGE progress since being in rescue. He is now more trusting and happy and open. He is crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash and loves to be with other dogs. We are looking for a home for him with another dog (it helps his confidence) and a fenced in yard. Rambler is one of those "heart dogs" that just get to you as you watch them embrace the kind of life they were meant to live. Interested in adopting? Lulu was rescued from a shelter in Tennessee, the day she was to be euthanized - shelter workers said they knew her original owner and that they mistreated her. Lulu is approx 8 years old and around 30 lbs. She’s very friendly, good with other dogs, good with cats. She’s affectionate, sweet, and friendly. We would recommend older children (or no children) for her because she can get touchy about her face being messed with- she can snap in fear if she doesn’t like how her face/neck/upper body is approached, or it's too quick for her. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Benny (11mo/ 30lb) is a charming and charismatic young lad. Benny is currently being fostered with young kids, cats, a senior small dog, and a large breed puppy. Benny is the perfect blend of curiosity, playfulness, and affection! His Beagle side gives him an inquisitive nature, and his Basset side adds a relaxed and cuddly temperament. We aren’t 100% sure of Benny’s story, but he was fostered in a home with other dogs before coming to MN. Benny is still trying to learn his role in his pack, so if there are other dogs in the home, we do recommend feeding separately. He does have a little attitude when it comes to other dogs trying to take his chews or food, but once he learns that he can trust everyone - he settles down. Benny is still working on potty training, and does well on a schedule and with treats! His foster mom works from home and is trying to help him learn to jingle a bell to go potty. (Smart AND Handsome!) He is still working on crate training, but once he is comfortable, enjoying a chew, and everything is quiet, he settles in for a nap. Benny would thrive in an active home where he can enjoy daily walks, training sessions, plenty of playtime, and cuddle sessions on the couch. A fenced yard is preferred for Benny so he can stay active, but would also be good in a home with a lot of activity and adventures. He’s also very social and would be a great fit for a family with other pets or kids who can match his energy and enthusiasm. We beagles live by the nose and I’d feel safer if I couldn’t wander off! I was heartworm-positive when I arrived in rescue, but I have been treated and am ready to find my forever family. My foster family has lots of toys that I love. I like to toss squeaker toys in the air with my paws and see if I can catch them. I really enjoy going on walks too - I don’t bark at other dogs or people. I have the usual cautiousness and energy of beagles, so I would do best with similar-sized and aged dogs (especially if they like to play!) I could be an only dog if I get lots of attention! I can sit on command and I like to sleep by my people. My fosters think I took a course in feng shui, because I like to move my bed around to find JUST the right spot! I also have a crate that I go into, if I want some alone time. I know my name and I’m getting better at coming when I’m called; my nose tends to distract me sometimes though. Charlotte (approx 11mos & 25lbs) is a very sweet and playful little lady who loves to frolic with the other dogs in her foster home. She warmed up to her foster humans and dog-friends in just a couple days! Though initially cautious of doorways and going in and outside at first, she now follows the other pups in & outside and is gaining confidence. Charlotte’s potty training is still a work in progress - but since her foster mom works from home and keeps her on a schedule and looks for cues, it’s getting better every day! Since Charlotte is still a young pup, when she meets someone new she is learning how not to jump up, and piddle a little bit in excitement. Charlotte stays out around the house for most of the day, but does go in her kennel for night-time. She does pretty well and calms down and falls asleep once the lights are off and everyone is in bed. Charlotte loves treats, toys, bones, chew toys and stuffed animals with a squeaker, so she keeps herself pretty entertained during the day. She is still learning how to walk on a leash, but will get there with some patience and a bag of treats on every walk! Once Charlotte warms up to you, she will be your best snuggle buddy for movie nights or couch naps! Charlotte hasn’t had the chance to meet kids or cats yet, but definitely needs another dog around to play and learn from in her forever home.
