Story
Tula is a 25lb mix, about 7.5yrs. Ive had her since she was about 8mos and LOVE her. But I moved (for my health) and she keeps getting out of my not well fenced yard and I cant afford new fence. For her safety Im looking for a new home. She's NEVER been an escape artist before, doesnt go far. She loves people, is dog selective but loves to play with doggie friends. My other two, both Collies, wont play with her and she is bored, so she gets out for fun. She needs a fenced yard to sniff & lie in the sun, and love! She lived with a cat before and did well. VERY smart and loves training. Knows some tricks. Positive reinforcement ONLY. NO SHOCK, PRONG, CHOKE COLLARS, NO CESAR MILLAN FANS. Pros: cuddly, smart, friendly, low shed, good with dogs when properly introduced, healthy. If you have a yard, she only needs one walk per day. Comes with supplies, coats, up to date on shots. Cons: Can be nervous around new dogs but easy to work with. She is an absolute doll and you will love her!

Story
Looking for a loving home for our 3 year old dog, Otis. We adopted Otis at 12 weeks from Rural Dogs Rescue in Washington, DC. For the first 2.5 years of his life, he adjusted very well to our family, which consisted of 2 teenage boys and an existing dog, 5 years older than he. Otis is energetic, food driven, and easily trainable. In the last few months he has lashed out at our older dog on several occasions that has raised some concerns about whether they can continue to coexist long term. Although we have tried various strategies, it would be best for us and Otis to find a new home where he can be the only dog. He is neutered, healthy, up-to-date on all of his shots, and chipped. Otis is extremely loving and affectionate with his people. He loves belly rubs and enjoys the outdoors. Otis is crate trained and lives in a house with a fenced in yard and has always had a mid-day dog walker.

If you are interested in adopting this dog,  please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.Dog's Name:   Archie  (ARC0821OWSMN)Estimated Breed:    Beagle/FeistApproximate Age:   6-7 yearsApproximate Weight:  45 lbs Currently Living at:  BoardingAdoption Fee:  $400DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Hi, I'm Archie! I've been waiting a LONG time to find my forever home. I absolutely LOVE all people, adults, kids - everyone - but I am a people dog, not a dog's dog. In other words, I prefer to be your ONE an ONLY as I have so much love to give! I have been in a foster home (where I thrived and was quite well behaved, even housetrained), and I went through some leash training but my fosters were getting busy and could not keep me. I really miss being in a home, so I am hoping that someone who is looking for an older but still active dog would adopt me!  I'd be a great companion for anyone with a fenced yard (I love to enjoy nature) and who also enjoys a good cuddle on the couch! I am very strong on leash, and since I do react to other dogs, I am really quite content to have the run of a nice fenced yard, and your devoted love an attention! If I sound like a dream to you, please come meet my adorable smile! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.        Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home. For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me! I'm a friendly and sweet Beagle mix who absolutely loves people and the company of my fellow dogs. I have an affectionate nature, and a knack for making friends quickly.  The world is just so full of interesting scents and I love exploring every single one of them! I'm hoping to find a family who will appreciate my loving nature and my happy spirit. Adopting me means gaining a loyal companion with lots of unconditional love to spare. My awesome foster mom says that I'm a big fan of sniffy walks and toys, particularly rope toys and Nyla bones. She also reports that I am coming along on my potty training and that I don't bark that much, which is surprising since I'm a beagle! In fact, foster mom thinks the thing I am currently enjoying the most is snuggling with her or playing with her resident dog. Though she says that I do enjoy snoozing in my crate and feel safe and snuggly in there ;) She also reports that all my interactions with children have been positive! If you think we could be a match, submit an application today so we can make beautiful memories together!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
