CURLY Breed: beagle Age: 11 weeks Weight: 10 pounds Adoption Fee: $375 Vetting Status: neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed and maintained on heartworm preventatives ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ April showers bring... Three Stooges? Larry, Curly & Moe are a pint sized trio of beagle-tude, each ready to bring laughs as a solo act. The Stooges are 11 weeks old, crate trained, & working on their potty skills. They are super sweet, sassy, & smart. Larry is the brainy one. Curly the super social, kissy, big guy. Moe is the adorable, quiet wallflower... so somewhat the reverse of his more famous namesake. They will be ready for new homes in late April. We encourage you to submit an adoption application ASAP if interested, as we expect them to be adopted quickly!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CURLY is available for adoption through K-9 Rescue of the Eastern Shore. An adoption process is required to include filling out an online adoption application available at the following link -- https://www.k9rescuees.org/info/adoption Veterinary and personal reference checks, and a home visit/meet-n-greet are required PRIOR to being approved to adopt. The time frame for completing this process depends largely on how quickly references respond, your vet office is able to speak to us (some want written permission first), your landlord or HOA (if applicable) confirms their approval for a pet, & how your schedule aligns with that of our volunteer(s) for the Home Visit. ~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE NOTE ~ All of our rescue members are volunteers with many obligations. While we may not be capable of immediate response, we will respond to all inquiries and application submissions as soon as possible. Thank you for thinking adoption!

I LOVE people and I love to run and play. I currently live with another dog and we get along but he's much older and doesn't like to run and play like I do. I'm also very smart. I have been with my humans for almost three years. But recently, they brought home a very tiny human. Having her here really stresses me out and makes me really nervous. I don' t get much sleep anymore and I also miss all the attention my humans used to give me. This human is really small and I can't play with her. I love my humans and they love me, but I think I would be happier with a family who could play with me and take me out on all the walks that I need.

Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information about adopting Razzle.  Razzle is a gorgeous, elegant American Foxhound. She is a very sweet girl who loves to play but will happily settle in to watch TV and nap on the couch with her person. She likes to play with other submissive dogs (40 pounds or heavier) but can be protective of her people with other dogs. Razzle would be fine as an only dog as long as she gets plenty of exercise. She also gets along with cats. She is not destructive and is house broken. For Razzle to thrive, she needs a stable, quiet home. In return she will shower you with love and devotion. Razzle requires a yard with a physical fence where she can run and play safely. She needs a home without children as she gets anxious with all the activity that comes with children and their friends. Razzle’s adopter must have previous dog experience as an adult. **Please note: We are only able to adopt within 30-40 miles of Baltimore, MD. For more information on our adoption policies and procedures, please go to http://www.petrescueofmd.org/info/adoptionVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 9, 2024, 1:33 pm

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Ruger is 3yo, weighs 28lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, but is not microchipped.  Ruger's guardian adds:  "He's the best snuggle buddy and would love to be able to sleep in bed with you!  Daily walks are a must, he needs some adventure time before cuddling on the couch.  He can't be left unattended for even a minute in a fenced yard because he will very quickly dig out!  He does well during car rides, but dislikes/fears crates and being left alone.  NOTE:  A requirement of his adoption will be enrolling him in a training program with a professional dog trainer.  Beagle experience would be great!" Ruger's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "I took Ruger in 2 years ago and soon realized his previous owner gave him no training what so ever.  I’ve been struggling with him in my home because I have other dogs that feed off of his wild child energy and it’s causing a lot of issues within my pack.  Which is making it even more difficult to train him." Ruger's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  "He is currently taking fluoxetine for separation anxiety." Ruger's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Ruger has lived with children (currently with a small baby, formerly with children 1-9yo), his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating: "He’s affectionate with kids but will steal their food.  He also sometimes growls when you move him when he’s laying down, he’s never bitten or snapped, but that may scare a child.  Children visiting would be fine but a child free home would probably be best." Ruger's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Ruger lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "He will howl at dogs outside the home and on walks.  Does fine with proper introduction". Ruger's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Ruger lives with cats, so his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating "He might howl if he sees one outside but leaves my cats alone". Ruger's guardian describes him as: Very active Barks alot Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor dog Likes men Likes women Separation anxiety Digger Ruger's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Ruger's perfect home would be a less busy household (without other dogs or maybe just 1 other dog) where he can have more time committed to just him. Someone that can provide him better structure that he needs and he’d greatly benefit from a good training program because he’s smart and willing to learn."  Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Edgewood, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. Story
Playful!MEET Willy!  This playful beagle (and basset hound?) mix guy is estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old and weighs 35 lbs. He was surrendered to a shelter from a home where he, another adult dog and their six unplanned puppies were living. All eight dogs were sent to rescue due to their age and/or condition (which has since been resolved with proper medical care.) Willy spent time in a foster home where he was great with the resident cat and dog. He is a big fan of toys and playing! He also loves the cushy bed his foster mom gave him. He is nearly house broken and just like any toddler, only has accidents because he’s so excited playing that he forgets to let his person know it is time to go outside.   Willy was recently selected to go to the extensive Ridgeside K9 board and train program to expand his obedience skill set. Unfortunately, while there, the stress of being asked to be crate trained manifested in GI troubles. Therefore his training is being cut short and the focus is on his well-being. Prior to going to training his foster mom had this to say about her spunky little charge: “Willy is very silly and loves to run and steal toys from his foster dog sister but what he loves more is playing with his foster kitty sister. Lounging on the couch with both is a close second. Willy also enjoys going to the dog park, running with his pals and rolling in the grass. He enjoys riding in a car where there is so much to see out the window!  He would be a great addition to any home as he does well with cats, other dogs and people of all sizes.”   Willy is a super friendly, fun dog in an medium-sized package. He will be a wonderful pet in a home where the adopters will have patience with him as he continues to learn and will provide obedience training to help him along the way. Hound experience is preferred, as he sings the song of his people (in other words, he is vocal and can be a little stubborn.) Finally, Willy’s new home should be one that won’t require him to be crated due to his stress when he is. Willy’s adoption donation fee is $400, which includes his neuter, routine vetting and his microchip.  You can apply for Willy by filling out our online application at www.tarashouse.org. Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.October 21, 2024, 8:45 pm

Story
Are you ready for a new, loyal best friend? Olive is your girl! She’s a 12-year-old Beagle who is happy, active, and loves to be around people and other dogs. Olive arrived at FLFO weighing 61 pounds. Her owner surrendered her because they said she wasn’t eating and could no longer get up on her own. Well, no wonder! She was 20 pounds overweight! And we have never seen Olive turn down a meal. In fact, one of her favorite pastimes is to graze the back yard for bunny droppings! Olive loves to take hikes in the park and walks through the neighborhood. She’s lost 14 pounds so far and it brought back her vitality. Olive has no health issues. Olive is looking for a home who will continue with her weight loss journey by providing her with healthy meals and lots of exercise. She also would love to have a canine friend to play with but not necessary. Olive knows sit and up (beg), walks nicely on a leash, and gives gentle kisses. She could use a little work on her treat taking skills, however. She’s very exuberant about her food! Because she can be protective of anything she thinks is food, we do not recommend Olive around small children. FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD.

Story
Stevie was born April 16, 2017 in FL. I’ve had him since he was a month old. He has grown on me. I hate to let him go. He needs room to run and he will be fine. He approaches and lays his head on my lap when he wants food, water, or needs to relieve himself. He is protective and I would advise someone with time to spend loving him. He is very sensitive and will hide when he thinks he is in trouble or has done something mischievous. lHe “cuddles” when I cry. This is the hardest decision I have ever made and I need to know he is safe.
