Story
Home for the Holidays - Reduced Adoption Fees if Adopted by January 10th!    Doxy is an eight year old, 17 pound, Beagle/Doxy mix. He was returned to AAU because his adopter was going into a senior living situation. He is a very sweet little dog. He does bark a lot, so he can not live in an apartment or condo. He is house trained, but he’s on Lasix (a fluid pill) for his heart condition. He can only be left for a few hours or so, depending on the time you gave the medication.    Speaking of his heart condition, Doxy does have rather advanced heart disease. He is on 2 other heart medications besides the Lasix. And I’ll add to his being left, that he has separation anxiety. He needs a home with another sweet dog. I would not crate him. I do have 2 personal dogs and I give them and Doxy the run of the house when I leave.    Doxy also has urinary crystals and must be on a special diet. Finally, he has Gallbladder disease for which he must take medication. Summing it up, he will be on a special diet and medication for the rest of his life. He would do best with a fenced yard because of his medication.   I know he sounds like a train wreck, but he’s a very good dog. He loves everyone and other dogs. He is not a fan of cats. Doxy is very attached to his people and smart! He picked up our routine quickly. He enjoys watching TV on the sofa.    Doxy is also a good watch dog. He spends much of his day “lounging”. He loves, loves, loves his evening leash walks. Honestly, you would never know he had any health issues when you meet him. I am retired and have a busy life. Doxy’s health issues have not interfered with my lifestyle. He has only added love to our household! An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. Doxy is a sweet and loving 9-year-old Beagle/Dachshund mix weighing in at 17 pounds. This charming little guy adores everyone he meets and gets along well with other dogs, though cats aren’t quite his cup of tea. What makes Doxy special:   Doxy has some medical needs, so he’s looking for a dedicated and compassionate -person to provide him with the care he deserves. He’ll need to stay on a special diet to prevent urinary crystals and will require lifelong medications for his heart and gallbladder. Despite these challenges, Doxy is full of life and love! His perfect home: --A fenced yard where he can easily go out.  He's potty trained but prefers going out every 4 - 5 hours. --A stay-at-home parent or someone with a flexible schedule to keep him company and help with his separation anxiety. Having another sweet dog in the home helps him feel secure, too! --A peaceful setting, as Doxy’s barky moments may not suit apartment or condo living.   What Doxy loves: --Evening leash walks—his absolute favorite activity! --Lounging during the day and snuggling on the sofa to watch TV with his family. --Being involved in family routines, as he’s a smart boy who quickly adapts to new schedules.   Though he’s a great watchdog and has some special needs, Doxy doesn’t let his medical issues slow him down. His foster mom, a busy retiree, says he has only brought love and joy into her home. Doxy is looking for someone as special as he is—someone who will give him the love and care he needs to thrive.           December 13, 2024, 7:20 am

Story
What a handsome little boy!  This is Yoda Hampton.  This little guy is very bonded to his sibling Trapper Hampton, who could be his twin. How wonderful if they could be adopted together as they are so bonded. They were rescued from a hoarding situation . They were well loved but received little socialization & training. Yoda is wary of strangers and skittish.   Once you gain Yoda's Hampton's trust he becomes a completely different pup. He loves to be held and to sit in your lap. He is very affectionate and loves attention. He answers to his name and goes into his crate on command. He likes being outdoors, running and playing and will do best with a fenced yard.. He especially likes playing with his toys and his brother Trapper Hampton. Yoda Hampton is learning to walk on a leash and will need additional training.. He does go potty outside ( usually LOL). Ask his foster for tips for his continued training.   With some trust building, training and patience, Yoda Hampton's   new forever family will be very lucky to have him as a member. They will get a lifetime of joy and love from this loving pup                          An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions.       Hello, friends! My name is Jack Star, and I really do feel like a star since I was rescued. I'm getting yummy food, toys to play with, and lots of TLC.  I'm a beagle boy and I weigh 29 pounds. I'm estimated to be six years old, but I act younger than my age. Foster mama says I'm a goofball who's down to clown whenever and wherever. I love people and cuddling! I also love other dogs and enjoy playing with them. I am best friends with two of my foster fur brothers and we wrestle and play every day. It's so much fun! I'm perfectly house trained and pretty good walking on a leash. Like many beagles, I let my nose lead the way! I will go into a crate if you give me a tasty treat, but I don't like being left alone and will loudly sing the song of my people for a few minutes before quieting down and napping. It would be best if I didn't live in a place where walls are shared with neighbors like apartments, condos, or townhomes. I have icky heartworms in me, but I'm starting treatment on 12/9 and I'll be all better soon! I can be pre-adopted in the meantime. Foster mama says whoever adopts me is going to be so lucky to have such a funny and loving pup. I can't wait to find that special person! I'm going to love them so much!  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Some dogs really enjoy love and attention, and that describes this Beagle boy to a "T."    Willie Wiseone is a five-year-old male Beagle who loves humans and dogs and eagerly seeks his people out for attention. He adores his foster family's other dogs and has a blast chasing them around the fenced backyard. He also demonstrates his Beagle genetics while he explores any area with his nose. But Willie also enjoys hanging out with us in the kitchen, after a brief play session with his favorite extra large stuffed ball!   Willie Wiseone has slept in a crate but prefers it when we keep him in the kitchen with one of the other dogs. Of course, he can choose from plenty of dog beds for his naps. And when his foster family comes home, he is very excited to see us. WillieW is even good with cats   Willie Wiseone is house-trained, but remember, in a new place, he will need you to show him where he should go to potty, take him out frequently, and watch for his cues for several days.    WillieW is a sweet and loving boy looking for a forever home where he can enjoy a leisurely walk, be loved, and hang out with his people. Of course, the occasional belly rub is highly welcome! Story
Home for the Holidays - Adoption Fee Sponsored if adopted by January 10th! Someone Who Loves Me is Sponsoring My Adoption Fee!   Meet Ben Bear Ben Bear is a 5 year old, male, Beagle mix, weighs 40 pounds, and house trained. Bear is a sweet boy and enjoys being a lap dog. He will be your shadow around the house and once you sit, he will be in your lap or rest his head on your hand.    Bear would like to spend part of the day chilling on the couch with his human and sleep close by at night. Bear is great on a leash and likes to lead the way at a brisk pace. He loves going on walks and mostly keeps his nose to the ground, sniffing all the scents he discovers on his journeys.   Bear enjoys running around in a fenced yard playing ball with his human! He needs a tall privacy fence or leash walked. He is quite athletic and can climb a chain link fence. Bear responds well to "no" and has learned "sit." He is working on learning not to jump when he greets you. He enjoys toys and playing fetch with a ball is his favorite. However, will resource guard balls/toys around other dogs.   Ben Bear needs to be an only dog at all times since he is not a fan of sharing toys. He will be a loyal companion to a human and is looking for someone who will confidently be his leader and show him lots of love! Story
My name is Jeanne! I'm a 10-year-old beagle, weighing in at 26 pounds. I' ve come a long way since I became an Angel dog with a severe medical condition called IMHA - Immune medicated hemolytic anemia that affected my liver.  I'm told that I have had the best medical care in my last 2 years with the rescue ranging from multiple ER visits, regular vet appointments, specialist and continual labs with follow up appointments along with prescription medications.  With this life changing event with my liver, I will have to remain on a liver protectant the rest of my life and I cannot have vaccines for the rest of my life due to the possibility of causing a relapse. I know it is a huge commitment, but I will have "extra requirements for my ongoing care" for the rest of my life including recheck of a CBC (complete blood count) every 3 to 6 months working closely with my veterinarian and avoiding exposure to contagious diseases - this includes group settings with unknown dogs, boarding environments, kennel environments or environments with wildlife.    I'm really g ood at  sleeping the day away in a dog bed , the couch, sometimes the floor and let's not forget about taking naps out on the deck in the sun. I sleep in the human's bed curled up against one of them or in a dog bed on the floor in the bedroom.  I can sleep the entire night away - no worries there  and won't get up until you tell me we have to or that it's time for breakfast !  I love simply being touched and petted, given treats and food.  I'm not destructive and don't have potty accidents in the house, but I do throw up from time to time. I'm 100% trustworthy and never crated. I'll let you know by barking when I need/want to go outside.     Here's a little info: I enjoy being around other dogs - it's kind of crazy at my foster home because I've been around 7 other dogs, and we all like each other. I really just kind of hang with them and we are all just pretty much a pack, but I can be independent too.  I guess if you can say "I get a little loud" when I know it's feeding time because I bark and carry on - that will be most energetic you will see me because it really is the highlight of the day along with when it's time to go upstairs to go to bed.     I would love to meet my new family soon; I've been waiting for you. If you would like to meet me, please submit an adoption application for me today!   For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online at http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue. *Some of our animals receive a high volume of applications, and we strive to select the best home for each animal.
