Story
Orchid is a two year old Beagle mix, who is the perfect size for snuggling up on your lap. This small-medium sized girl has the most precious little underbite, which gives her an endearing grin that’s impossible to resist. Orchid is a sweet, easy going pup who walks well on a leash, making her an ideal companion for strolls around the neighborhood. She enjoys both short and longer outings, and you’ll always know she’s happy when her tail curl shows up in pure joy. Orchid also has a fun playful side that comes out whenever you bring her a squeaky toy (or ball, or stuffed animal..). This charming girl has so much going for her - all that she is missing is a loving home where she will be cherished. And in return, Orchid will offer endless affection and gratitude. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. Story
My name is Duke Raider, but you can just call me Duke.  I'm a 4-year-old beagle weighing 28 pounds and told to be all around healthy!  I have the typical beagle tricolors with a friendly personality with those big brown puppy eyes that will melt your heart.  I came into the rescue with another beagle named Ginger Bell who is an 8-year-old beagle.  We lived together for the past few years with a family that loved us, but we are a bit too loud for that home since they work from home now.  So, heads up, I'm a great alarm system because I'm a loud barker informing you of any intruder or noise that I deem a potential danger.  I love getting attention and playing chase with the other dogs in my foster home.  I love food and treats but I may forget my manners because I use to live with a small child that I used to get extra food from.  I'm e xtremely sweet, love other dogs (there are 7 other dogs in my foster home) and friendly with all humans - said to have never met a stranger.  I am not an apartment/condo/townhome kind of guy; I need a place where I can stretch my legs and bark at my leisure without neighbors complaining about my singing.  I've proven to be potty trained and crate trained as long as kept on a schedule.  The only catch about the crate is that Ginger Bell and I share the same crate so we can keep each other company.  Naps is also one of my other favorite pastimes where I'm not picky who I share a dog bed with.  I sleep in my foster's bed and sleep through the night with no issues.  I do need a secure fenced yard since I'm guilty of taking off on my own adventures, we will just blame it on my highly sensitive sense of smell, especially when I see a squirrel.  There is evidence of this since I was hit by a car a few years ago and injured my back leg.     I would love to meet a family soon that will want to adopt me and take me home with you.  Would you consider myself and my buddy Ginger Bell as a pair - it's just like having one dog, so I'm told.  An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
My name is Ginger Hazel!  I'm a 2-year-old beagle (DOB 10-12-22) weighing 15 pounds, and I’m told I need to put on a few pounds.  I was an outdoor hunting dog, but hunting was not for me.   I have pretty coloring, if I do say so myself - two-tone brown and white coloring with gorgeous light hazel eyes that match my fur, and I use those eyes to look into your soul.      I love getting attention; in fact, I can't get enough of it and want to be the center of attention. I've been hanging out with all the other dogs at the house (7 others to be exact) and the humans that live in my foster home too.  It took me a little time to understand what happened to me because everything is a new experience.  I'm working on my jealousy issues - I want my foster mom all to myself and don't want another dog to have time with her. That's probably because my mom is so sweet as I don't have this issue with the other two male humans that live here. I sometimes shake and act scared when the guys  come around, so we are also working on that too.      I lived in a kennel with my mom next to other dogs in pens all my life. So, living in a pack isn't a problem at all cause I play with the other dogs. My potty training has come a long way as I'm kept on a regular schedule and have learned to follow the other dogs in what they do.    I am a barker because I lived outside and I don't know any better, but my bark isn't ear-piercing.  I am working on crate training, but I have anxiety about the crate and also a little separation anxiety when the family leaves. But my foster knows I'm not good left alone for a long perior, so I have to learn. Also, as a note, I am a world class jumper and can jump over the gates inside the house; my foster mom says I can bounce like "Tigger" if motivated.    My new home will have a fenced backyard with a wooden type at least 5-foot tall. Chain-link since I can climb those. If you don't have a fence, you can walk me on my leash, but you need to be 100% committed to leash walking as I need the exercise, and my nose will lead the way.    Toys are new and very interesting. So far, I like the stuffed toys, the ones that crinkle, tennis balls, and antlers/ Benebones to chew on. Taking naps is a favorite event of the day, and I sleep in a chair, a dog bed, and even on top of another dog sharing a dog bed. I sleep in the human's bed at night and sleep through the night.    Feeding time is my absolute favorite, but I have zero manners about this because I never had my own food bowl. So, I want to eat it as fast as I can and then try to get all the other dogs' food bowls because this is how I grew up surviving.     I would love to meet a family soon that will want to adopt me and take me home with you. I promise i am as sweet as I look. If you would like to meet me, please submit an adoption application for me today! Felix Male Beagle MixDOB: 2/13/2024Adoption Fee: $200Felix is a cute boy that is ready to find his new home! He is a very curious guy who loves to roam around out in the yard and will smell all of the interesting things out there. He seems to be more interested in the sights than in toys, but that means he just needs someone who likes to go on long walks! Felix will need to go to a home without big dogs. If you think Felix would make a wonderful companion, please fill out an application today! Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line.
