Story
What we know about Pumpkin A006141: -2 yo- 40lbs- Female (spayed)- UTD on shots- On Flea/Tick and heartworm prevention-Microchipped-HW status- HW+ (easily treated by any vet. Has completed a month of doxy and currently on HW preventative (slow kill HW treatment)-Dog Tested- Not been tested but did come in with 6 other adult dogs and some of her puppies. So is likely dog friendly. A meet and greet is always recommended for any potential furry siblings. Dog tests can be done at request.-Cat Tested- Not been tested but can be done at request-Medium energy level. Loves to go on walks and get in the play yards to stretch her legs, but also loves to sunbathe and snuggle.-Came from a home previously that had kids, but I would recommend either going to a no kid household or 10+ kids.-Would do best in a semi calm home (will explain more below)Pumpkin was part of an animal cruelty case where it was speculated that the dogs were both physically abused and neglected. All the dogs from this case came to the shelter in rough physical shape and they were mentally shutting down. Pumpkin specifically had multiple puppies with her, one of which was special needs. We’ve also been told that her other puppies were taken from her and she likely witnessed their deaths. She and the other dogs from this case are learning that all humans are not bad. She will need a home that is understanding of her past and is willing to work and love her through.Once Pumpkin warms up to people and is able to be herself she does the happiest prance! (Pumpkin’s- Intake date was: 12.1.23) If you think Pumpkin could be the perfect addition to your family, please call 912-554-7500, send an email animalservices@glynncounty-ga.gov, or visit 190 Carl Alexander Way, Brunswick, GA 31525. The shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday 12-5PM Sundays 1-4PM and are technically closed to the public on Monday’s but are willing to work with people if needed.

Story
Hey Hey! My name is Bonnie and I'm the last girl left in my litter, even my mom has a home! I would love to get away from my goofy brothers so I can really shine! I can be a little shy with new people, but I promise I warm up quickly! One thing I'm really great at is sharing my toys! I love to carry things around and will make sure to show you what I have! My brother Gabe does the same thing, but shhh don't tell him that I'm way cuter when I do it! It's a girl thing! Anyway, after being at the rescue for over 400 days, I would really like a home of my own! I promise I'll love you as long as you love me! Bonnie 2 can be cat tested upon request. Please use the link below to apply for her.https://www.equineremedy.com/application-linksBonnie is from a litter of puppies that are so sweet and happy! They are mixed breed pups who were found dumped with their mom in a ditch in a plastic tote that was zip-tied shut. They have come a lot way since rescue and are now loving life! They are social babies, not shy at all. The pups will end up medium sized, with mom being on the smaller side at 35 pounds.SGER FAQs:We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption. Story
Presley was left behind when her family moved and left her to fend for herself. She was picked up by SGER when she was sleeping on a neighbor's porch on a cool day so she could stay warm, She's playful, gets along with most dogs, hasn't been introduced to cats that we know of (can be cat tested upon request), and just a sweet girl that loves attention and people. She would make a great companion to most people. We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption. Story
Jade was pulled with her "sister" Opal from a high kill shelter in Jesup, Ga. They were surrendered to the shelter when their owner could no longer care for them and needed to give them up. They were both on the list to be euthanized, and we couldn't let that happen. We haven't had Jade long enough to know much about her personality, but from what we've seen, she is a little on the shy side, but will still want to cuddle and be near when she's unsure. The entire ride from the shelter she just wanted to sit in the volunteer's lap to be snuggled close since she was a little scared of what was going on. Once fully vetted, she will be ready for adoption! She can be cat tested upon request.

Story
Cheddar, now known as Jaxon, was adopted in January 2024 as a happy and outgoing puppy, but was returned as a shy baby in August. If you're a loving home that will give a dog patience and love while they adjust to a new home, this boy would be perfect for you. He LOVES little kids and absolutely adored the toddler he lived with before being returned so he's very confused right now. Jaxon has come a long way in his foster home! He loves his foster family, the other dogs, does well with the cats, and is all around a very goofy boy. He has a pouty face that just makes you fall in love with him! And the best part, his top lip often gets stuck in his mouth and causes the cutest derpy faces! He would thrive in a home with another dog that can keep teaching him how to dog and to trust. Cheddar and his were found in the middle of the street cold, starving, covered in fleas, and full of worms! The person who found and reached out to the rescue almost ran them over, but saw them just in time. They are currently at the rescue on the mend and doing so much better. They look almost unrecognizable compared to when they all came in. Cheddar is the tiniest of the bunch and taking a little longer to grow, but he is a food motivated feisty little thing! While in their pen, they are now nonstop playing, rough housing, and just being silly little puppies! They are living their little lives to the fullest after what they've had to endure so far. This adorable group of puppies will soon be ready to find their forever homes so get your application in so you don't miss out of these little babies! We are a 501c3 non profit rescue.Your information in our application is not shared and is protocol for adoption.
